I would hope the fatality rate here would be better than in Wuhan, where the health infrastructure is worse.

No. Zero very young children have died. That's the point.

Here is something many was wondering about - using plasma from people who recovered to treat sick. This is method that has been around and used successfully in other outbreaks, and movies Apparently it works with covid too. This is a good news.
I remember seeing this method featured in the movie Outbreak and was wondering why nobody is trying it. So apparently it is a real option and it really works.

Sooo, I know this is supposed to be positive news only, but there was video footage out of China that suggested otherwise.

Not going into details but SOME very young children have passed. It is rare though.

Yes it is supposed to be positive forums and however sad is loss of every child’s life the positive things are:
The children are not much affected. As with every rule there will be exception as some children do have preexisting conditions so they need to be extra protected not to get it, perhaps early isolation etc. The more you know the better you can prepare.

Bottom line: kids being marginally affected is a positive news.

It's only a 2% death rate and it only minimally affects children. The part about the children is most important to me.

And if it’s ever really analyzed with decent data we may find that it’s less than 2%.

I'm liking this thread. OP, are you in therapy? This is a great tactic for dealing with the negative anxiety this is causing. We can't take that away, but we can build the positive around it to minimize the negative.

This is copied from the other thread, I brought it here because tke poster makes a valid point.

I'm saying that we brought students from Wuhan right into Fairfax County, and told them to tour. They were not quarantined. Where are all the cases in Fairfax County and DC? How about NYC given that they flew in there? The bus driver that took them to Fairfax County?

1.386 billion people live in China.
Only 77,000 have had the coronavirus.
It seems like everyone has it, but you have to focus on the fact that 1.385 billion in China are still healthy.

If worse comes to worse we all get quarantined in our houses. If that happens I am going to get some interior painting done. It'll be fun.
