"Walter Ricciardi of the World Health Organisation stressed that for every 100 cases, about 80 people get better alone, 15 have serious but manageable problems, five are very serious and about three die." |
Currently undergoing trials https://www.clinicaltrialsarena.com/news/coronavirus-covid-19-choroquine-data/ But it is a medication that's been used for a long time so it is pretty well known, and it isn't crazy expensive like the HIV drugs. |
I just hope we can hold it off until my kids are home from college |
My wife works in bio research. Lots of labs are working their asses off to find a vaccine — I believe that they will. |

I like the name Corona Virus because it reminds me of Corona beer! |
Why? So they can help you paint? Ha ha |
This is good to hear!! I also hope that the coronavirus inspires anti-vaxxers to learn more about how vaccinations work for the majority of people and why we have them to build herd immunity. |
That's 20 times the fatality rate of the flu. I appreciate the spirit of this thread, but minimizing the very real threat COVID-19 poses increases the danger because it will encourage people to ignore warnings and recommendations. |
It’s made me happy to see how the scientists of the world have come together to share data and help each other. And in a way, many countries have worked together in a less politicized way to help each other (not withstanding Iran!) but thinking of early pledges to help China, etc. |
Yes but just .2% up until age 60 |
It’s the rate calculated on questionable numbers. Don’t get too hung up on it. |
You mean like the numbers coming out of China where it’s suspected that they may be manipulating data to minimize the severity? |
Question everything.. said once a wise man. Why world data does not follow chinese data is yet to be answered by panic spreaders. |
What does this mean? |
