Political Discussion
There was more than one group protesting or demonstrating that day. Just because you show up for your own cause doesn’t mean to see against another cause. The boys had every right to be there and support their cause. |
| Nice to see these kids with such lovely values. It's clear their parents raised them well. |

Let's face what this is about. A bunch of teenage boys go to DC for a march. Many teenagers go on things like this because it's fun to be with your friends at that age and you do what your friends are doing (regardless of whether you believe in whatever cause the adults have used to rationalize the trip). A man who is dead serious about his cause is there as well. He has been through a lot in life . . . Vietnam vet who comes to sing at Arlington cemetery on a regular basis. He knows many who have died from his culture. He is proud of his tribe. Rightly. The boys are there to whoop it up and have fun. Life has not become serious for them (yet). The man is there on his own personal spiritual mission. Blaming people for what happened is ridiculous really. The boys need to learn to be respectful. The ground there does not belong to them alone and the respectful thing to do would be to move out of the way and let the man pass, especially the boy who stood in front of him (there was room for him to move). The young boy clearly could have moved out of the way (there was plenty of room). There is also a thing called respect for elders. The young are more physically able to move faster. That was an old man. He was clearly marching toward the memorial. Come on. The younger people need to learn how to behave in public spaces like this. All that said, the kids are kids and haven't learned this yet. I hope they learned something. They should receive some kind of punishment, but not expulsion. Kids do stupid things. The people defending the kids somehow don't want to admit that kids do stupid things. Why? |
Wait, do you think Catholics approve of homosexuality? I would think there would be some common ground there between the Catholic schoolboys and and Black Israelites. Also the March for Life was over. These boys weren't "marching for life" anymore. They were being stupid teens and their chaperones didn't stop them. The man "walking into their midsts" was chanting for peace. Something Catholocism loves by the way. |

Doesn’t mean you are against another cause, correction.
Apparently the right to support or protest is now limited, according to dcum. Only causes dcum supports are allowed. Anything else is vile and disgusting. You all are so far down the rabbit hole it’s not even funny anymore. You ignore that all Americans have the basic right to show up. You put one group as holy and protected and one as vile when in reality both have the right to support their cause. I have seen video from all types of marches and demonstrations and what these boys did is the norm. |
Exactly how were they supporting their cause while standing on the steps of the Lincoln memorial doing the Tomahawk chop and whooping it up? What cause was that boy who stood so close, refused to move, and stared with that smirk at the older native American chanting a sacred song? What cause was he promoting by his stance? |
| The native got in the teens face and the complicit media blamed the kid. |
Excellent post. Thank you for sounding reasonable, so rare on this board. |
No, people are simply noting how rude and entitled these kids were. YOU don't get it. |
Catholic schools tell you to be above the norm, to follow principles, not the pack. --Catholic school graduate |

I don't think those kids were protesting at the time . . . it looks like they are visiting the sites. I don't see them with signs, etc. They should be behaving like tourists would, right? |
I guess it’s the norm in Trump trashville. |
Exactly. How is peace beating a drum in a kid’s face? That’s peace? Unbelievable. The kid wasn’t even reacting. |
You realize that many people are anti-abortion and pro-choice right? The point being that the government doesn't get to force women to have babies, especially little girls, rape victims, and people whose lives are at risk. |
That's what it looks like to me. The kids were tourists at the memorial and the group of African Israelites was initially just another tourist attraction. They were observing it as some sort of spectacle (which it probably was to them). But then they went from observing to heckling and, in effect, became counter-protesters. Things then escalated. |
