VHSL Girls Lacrosse Spring 2023

All jokes aside, Oakton won that game fair and square. Congratulations on a great season

Maybe one or two girls scored all the goals for Oakton and the others just watched.
Maybe Battlfield has overall better talent.
Maybe you don’t like the Oakton coach.
Maybe, maybe, maybe…
You need a lot of things to go right to win any kind of championship.
BUT…. There’s no MAYBE this year!
The bottom line is Oakton WON the State Championship… this year!
Good luck to everyone next year….

Don't forget they were district and region runner up too

Give me a region and district runner up for a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP every year! Hopefully we do the same next year!
I’m sure the region and district plaques are nice.
Go Cougars!

Good question. Not sure we can solve that one.

Very easy to solve. Say congratulations and move on.

Your intentions may be good but the sincerity of your message is lost when you consistently have to add a comment about the team that finished second.

I’m glad to see public school lacrosse accomplishments getting so much media attention. Let’s keep that going! Who is up for upsetting some private schools next year?

If IFs and BUTs were candy and nuts. Just stop Battlefield posters.

Congratulations Cougars on a great game and win. See that is not so hard.

Holy crap! Did the POY really have 92 goals? That’s insane.

Yes, very impressive stat and very impressive player. What’s more impressive is another player in the Concorde had more goals and in less games. Some great players in the Concorde

So Oakton was more of a "team" than the other player's squad...?

It’s true that Oakton played more games than other Concorde teams (that’s the nature of playoffs), but that’s still almost five goals per game on average. Also, when comparing goal or point stats you have to consider strength of schedule, are others on the team sharing in the scoring, etc. Goals alone don’t tell the full story. Of course, leading one’s team to the state title is the most impressive.

I see Oakton girl on had 15 assists on a state championship team. How many did the other Concorde player have? Was she just shoot or does she have more balanced offensive stats?
