It is noted that both of his parents found some items that perhaps belonged to their son.
I find this too coincidental that his folks randomly said they would be looking for him today, then they magically find his belongings.
Don’t you?!

I suspect they may have known his whereabouts and finally let down their guard this morning.
Perhaps they got tired of living a lie….??

Regardless I am looking forward to the press conference in a few minutes.

You read Fox which has been prove wrong. They DID NOT find the items. The police did. Also, the police have been asking them to join them to help the search

I am the PP here and actually got my info from CNN + TMZ.

I stand corrected in that BOTH the police as well as Brian’s parents found the items which belonged to Brian.

Even if the cops were the ones to find the items, isn’t it still a little too coincidental that the items were found on the same day that Brian’s parents initiated a search??

Give it a rest. They just learned their son is dead. Did you watch the video? The father crying when he got the news? They didn’t know and they weren’t involved and they are grieving. They have been vilified based on zero evidence that they had any knowledge of what happened to Gabby or knowledge or role in Brain’s disappearance. It’s sick what people have been doing to these individuals without anything to substantiate the wild accusations.

While I agree that you have included many valid points, I still think that the parents should have spoken up in the beginning.

When Gabby’s family was calling the Laundries, inquiring where she was or what they actually knew, etc., I just find it cruel that they never responded back.
While hiring a lawyer + deciding against speaking publicly is their fundamental right - morally they should have responded to Gabby’s parents and let them know what they knew.

By doing this, they only made themselves look bad.

Of course it made them look bad, but it was the smart thing to do. It’s 100% what I would have advised my clients to do as well. we don’t know what Brian told them. He may have told them absolutely nothing. Remember, her body wasn’t even found until after Brian left. They may have had zero clue that was something wrong. Brian left only two days after she was announced missing- that could have been a complete shock to the parents who could have led to him feeing a need to flee. He could have played her disappearance off as something he has no idea about. We simply don’t know what they knew or thought.

But they could have had the decency to respond to Gabby’s family when they called looking for her. Stone cold silence is not the way to react.

We don’t know what their relationship was like with the Petito family, or how they were being approached. As long as we’re assuming that the Laundries were stone cold, why not assume that the Petitos were threatening them? We don’t know enough about any of this to pass well informed judgment.

Sure we do. Dr Phil did an interview with the family. They said at first they were fearful for the couple. They thought that they were both missing. They repeatedly tried to reach out to Brian‘s family and couldn’t get a hold of anyone. No one would return their calls.

This has bothered me for some time — we have absolutely no idea what they have and have not told the FBI. The speculation about whether they have cooperated (or not) is purely that — speculation.

Per the government officials, they have been cooperating with police and FBI. It’s only ever been BRIAN who was refusing to speak with them. The parents have always been cooperative. That’s not speculation and assertions that they haven’t been cooperating are simply wrong. They just have refused to speak to the petitos.

They absolutely knew something was wrong. Their son drive out west with his live-in fiancé and drove home without her. Something was definitely wrong. Even if he said they broke up, they didn’t want to know where she was? They didn’t think anything of all the calls and texts from her parents asking if they had heard anything? They didn’t think to respond “well our kid is here, no clue where your kid is”??

Who knows? He could have told them anything. He could have said that Gabby went to visit her friends in California and asked him to drive the van back. He could have said that her parents had been harassing them about coming back, that Gabby stopped taking their calls, and that now they want to pressure the Laundrie parents, too. It could have been quite a while before they realized that Gabby was legitimately missing.

There are a limitless number of possibilities of how everything went down, not all of which mean that the Laundries are cold blooded killer accomplices.

None of those excuses are plausible or believable, especially once her parents started trying to make contact.

The point is that we, the public, have no idea. The above is certainly more believable than “the Laundries are hiding him under their garden! The laundries have a cop in the family that is helping Brian hide! The laundries bought him a burner phone!”

It’s all speculation.

Watched video again of parents at reserve or park. Was officer showing them photos? He said something like "is this consistent?" and asked them to go home and hang tight till they hear back. There was no hugging, hand holding, shock, nothing. And a body was found next to Brian's notebook??? Their behavior seems odd, especially the mother

How is this odd? Some people hold it together better than others. Everyone deals with stress/trauma/grief differently.

When my dad died after a very brief illness, I didn’t cry. Me and my mom were cracking jokes with the funeral director. It wasn’t until weeks later that I really fell apart. And I loved my dad more than ANYTHING. Would you have found that odd too?

I mean they raised an abuser who turned out to be a murderer and harbored a fugitive. And also didn't mention he was missing for days after he left? Give me a break. They should be held responsible for Gabby's death by the public court for the rest of their lives, and they will be.
