Unpopular theory - I think they have been 100% cooperating with the FBI since Brian went missing. Doesn’t excuse the silence starting Sept 1 but still. Do we know the exact date they lawyered up?
This has bothered me for some time — we have absolutely no idea what they have and have not told the FBI. The speculation about whether they have cooperated (or not) is purely that — speculation.
Per the government officials, they have been cooperating with police and FBI. It’s only ever been BRIAN who was refusing to speak with them. The parents have always been cooperative. That’s not speculation and assertions that they haven’t been cooperating are simply wrong. They just have refused to speak to the petitos. https://www.mysuncoast.com/2021/09/17/north-port-police-investigators-speaking-with-laundrie-family-connection-with-disappearance-gabby-petito/ September 17: “ NORTH PORT, Fla. (WWSB) - North Port Police say they are speaking with the Laundrie family, by their request, in connection with the disappearance of Brian Laundrie’s fiancée, Gabrielle Petito. Brian is still not talking... Laundrie hired a lawyer immediately and did not speak to police. Now, North Port Police officials say that the Laundrie family is speaking with their investigators by their own request.” https://www.wfla.com/news/sarasota-county/north-port-community-gathers-outside-laundrie-family-home-friday-as-officers-speak-with-brians-parents/ “ NORTH PORT, Fla. (WFLA) — For the first time this week, there was police activity at the Laundrie home Friday evening. North Port police say Brian Laundrie’s parents wanted to speak with officers. Police told 8 On Your Side the Laundrie family attorney called them to say that Brian’s parents haven’t seen him for days. That conversation at the home lasted more than two hours.” https://www.wtsp.com/article/news/special-reports/gabby-petito-case/brian-laundrie-parents-search/67-33efb64e-f52f-437a-a7c9-d8b740ba7679 October 6: “ Chris Laundrie was asked to assist law enforcement in their search for Brian at the preserve today. Since the preserve has been closed to the public Chris has not been able to look for Brian in the only place Chris and Roberta believe Brian may be. Unfortunately, North Port police had to postpone Chris’ involvement but Chris and Roberta are hopeful there will be another opportunity to assist." https://wgntv.com/news/brian-laundries-dad-assisting-law-enforcement-in-search-for-son-attorney-says/ October 7: “ NORTH PORT, Fla.
