Give it a rest. They just learned their son is dead. Did you watch the video? The father crying when he got the news? They didn’t know and they weren’t involved and they are grieving. They have been vilified based on zero evidence that they had any knowledge of what happened to Gabby or knowledge or role in Brain’s disappearance. It’s sick what people have been doing to these individuals without anything to substantiate the wild accusations.

While I agree that you have included many valid points, I still think that the parents should have spoken up in the beginning.

When Gabby’s family was calling the Laundries, inquiring where she was or what they actually knew, etc., I just find it cruel that they never responded back.
While hiring a lawyer + deciding against speaking publicly is their fundamental right - morally they should have responded to Gabby’s parents and let them know what they knew.

By doing this, they only made themselves look bad.

Of course it made them look bad, but it was the smart thing to do. It’s 100% what I would have advised my clients to do as well. we don’t know what Brian told them. He may have told them absolutely nothing. Remember, her body wasn’t even found until after Brian left. They may have had zero clue that was something wrong. Brian left only two days after she was announced missing- that could have been a complete shock to the parents who could have led to him feeing a need to flee. He could have played her disappearance off as something he has no idea about. We simply don’t know what they knew or thought.

But they could have had the decency to respond to Gabby’s family when they called looking for her. Stone cold silence is not the way to react.

We don’t know what their relationship was like with the Petito family, or how they were being approached. As long as we’re assuming that the Laundries were stone cold, why not assume that the Petitos were threatening them? We don’t know enough about any of this to pass well informed judgment.

Sure we do. Dr Phil did an interview with the family. They said at first they were fearful for the couple. They thought that they were both missing. They repeatedly tried to reach out to Brian‘s family and couldn’t get a hold of anyone. No one would return their calls.

That’s just the Petito’s side of the story.

The Laundries are certainly welcome to tell their side of the story.
Waiting....

Don’t worry, they’ve talked to the fbi. Were you expecting them to do the talk show circuit to satisfy Joe Public?

I hope the hecklers outside the home have the decency to back off now. Hoping maybe there will be a police presence, at least over night to protect their privacy.

He said something like "is this consistent?" and asked them to go home and hang tight till they hear back. There was no hugging, hand holding, shock, nothing. And a body was found next to Brian's notebook??? Their behavior seems odd, especially the mother

Yes it looked like he was showing them photos or video on a phone, and they were both wiping away tears. I didn’t see the odd behavior.

I am so relieved a corpse has been found.

Weird sentence.

Why? I’m glad too, assuming it’s Brian. No more $$ wasted on the manhunt, trial, or a lifetime of incarceration.

Very true.
But unfortunately for the Petito family, they will not get any answers regarding the death of Gabby.
Which I am sure they were hoping for.

This is so sad for them. 😢

Does anyone else think this is like a modern day Romeo and Juliet breakup gone tragically wrong?

what makes you say this, it's not like him being alive would guarantee answers anyway

She didn’t strangle herself.

Human remains found near Laundrie’s personal belongings.

I’ll bet he killed a drifter and staged his death.
Anonymous
Staging wouldn’t be so easy. Body may have been submerged in water. Coward probably committed suicide.

What a shocker it would be if the body was not his.

I do, in a sense. I believe that they did love each other, but everything went horribly wrong.
