Huh? |
People leaving NY. |
Yes. New Yorkers are spreading the virus. |
This has been explained by the author of the charts. The Y axis is log scale. It is meant to measure the trajectories of the spread. The size of the population doesn't matter, as it is a constant in the logarithm. If you measure how fast a forrest fire spreads, the size of the forrest doesn't change the trajectory much. It is how you fight the fire and the weather condition makes the difference. |
Florida failed to close down during spring break. That was FAR more impactful than anything associated with NY. |
They’re predicted as the next location for the next “hot spot” surge. Its very sad. |
With their elderly population, they will have a very high death rate compared to most other states. Even if they prevent entry into some communities for the elderly, there will be delivery drivers, mail carriers, etc. |
Time will tell. New York should have put restrictions in place sooner Florida should have nixed spring break. Louisiana should have cancelled Mardi gras But that's too late now. Focus needs to shift to preventing disease crossing state lines. To be truly effective these lockdowns need to be far more aggressive. |
I was told by a credible authority if you just rake the forest floors you won't have more fires. Maybe we can rake the virus? I don't know it's just a thought. |
I doubt it will be effective, practical, or even Consitutional to prohibit people from crossing state lines. Are you going to block every little road between New York and Pennsylvania? And what about the doctors who live in New Jersey but work in New York? |
You rake the virus by getting people to stay home and self isolate. When new yorkers flee, little fires start popping up everywhere they go. |
