Me too. I've shared this with my other Davidson friends and we all got a good laugh.

Davidson is a good school but by every objective measure it isn't in the same league as Williams. Opinions don't really matter......data does.

Davidson has merit scholarships, better weather, and a better location. A higher percent of their classes are under 20 students, and a lower under 50. If you're paying full pay for Williams vs. getting a merit scholarship of around 30K for Williams, it's a no-brainer. Go to Davidson. Top 10 LAC. It's like the kids who pick Duke with a merit scholarship over Harvard, which doesn't offer them.

ack, meant Davidson. Actually, 8 kids a year get full scholarships + a $6000 stipend. Unbelievable deal for a top 10 LAC. https://www.davidson.edu/admission-and-financial-aid/financial-aid/scholarships/nomination-scholarships Washington and Lee is another top LAC with a full ride merit aid scholarship.

Davidson is for students who were this close to getting into Duke.

Good school, though. Hope my kid applies there.

I agree with you there, but didn't consider Texas to be in "the south."
