My friend teaches there. She calls it "nerd school." The students are smart, curious, and engaged with the curriculum in ways that you won't find among the resume polishers at HYP.

Read "Excellent Sheep" for a great discussion of elite credentials vs. the best education. It's a big fat love leter to schools like Davidson. You and your child are the only ones who can decide whether an elite credential is more important than getting the best education possible.

Best reputation doesn't always mean best education. People pay a lot of money for branding.

Clearly you work in admissions at Davidson, or your Dc attends Davidson and could not get into an elite school, so you spend your time bumping this thread and trying desperately to brand Davidson and make it relevant. Give it a rest.
