That there is actually a thread on this, much less a lengthy one, explains the state of the Democrat party. |
Precisely. But Democrats are plugging their ears and pretending everything is just fine. This is my number one issue and I know I'm not alone. |
Good article I just read from a progressive that is honest about how the administration has approached this issue. They admit that Biden went hard left from the start under advice from Latino and migrant interest non profits. What I really can’t stand is the denialism. These people claiming what we see right in front of our face isn’t real. At least admit the truth. |
Working on farms in the Upper Midwest is much different than picking fruit in the Central Valley of California in the summer. Also, those retail and restaurant type jobs usually do not pay a living wage, that is acceptable to US citizens. Now, if those employers were open to paying higher wages, then maybe you would see more US born people working them. I think it is just a matter of supply and demand. |

You realize that illegal immigrants are not subject to minimum wage. Sure, the Department of Labor will tell you all day they are. Meanwhile, real world, the DOL and law enforcement are not sending out people to check. In fact, it's a hands off market. So after a while, businesses know right where to go. And, the EEOC will protect the business by written language stating the business cannot challenge documentation and the prospective worker can provide documentation from a list of acceptable documents of their choice. So you have TWO standards whether you want to admit it or not. One for citizens and one for all-else. Guess who is disadvantaged? Plus you have legal language protecting the applicant. So as much as you yahoos want to sue businesses for doing evil, businesses are following written law because they don't want the government to sue them. - - - The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), 8 U.S.C. § 1324 Discrimination based on citizenship status is expressly prohibited by the Immigration and Nationality Act's (INA) anti-discrimination provision, 8 U.S.C. § 1324b. It shows the political IQ of Trump that he didn’t gut Obamacare just to be spiteful on his first day in office. He knew it was popular. Biden and Kamala wanted to spite Trump rather than do what’s best for the country and what’s popular. They show themselves in the foot and are embarassed to claim the border czar title these days because it was an epic fail. Kamala’s conclusion was migration was growing because of climate change so she spent billions to Latin American corrupt governments to fight “climate change” to stem migration. They laughed but took the money away. Our tax money down the drain.. They not only opened the border On Day 1 as president but they openly traveled to the border to welcome people-something never done before. They were encouraging illegal entry, opening it to drugs, guns, sex trafficking, kidnapping. The FBI just quietly admitted yesterday that crime has gone up. Trump was right yet again. |
By the way; the Biden administration didn’t care to give one COVId shot to any of these millions of migrants entering the border. Meanwhile; Americans were mandated to get them for work.
After strictly fast food and grocery inflation rose 2 1/2 years after Trump left office directly tied to the start of the Ukraine war, migrants were given free food at shelters and over 20k a year in food stamps while Americans starved and had the same services for the poor like Medicare Advantage and food stamps gutted. Apparently it’s ok for an illegal to not pay to enter the country and pay for groceries but you have to. It’s ok for a transgender prisoner to get a sex change operation but seniors shouldn’t get Medicare. Biden has long been an enemy to Medicare unlike Trump who stands against his own party to support it and pushed along with Bernie Sanders for some major generic drug shipments from Canada particularly for cheaper insulin to come to the US. Lots of seniors especially minority seniors use insulin and know who made the price lower |
Big Pharma hates trump. Ever wonder why you see all the drug ads on cnn and msnbc? Big Pharma sponsors them and trump is an enemy to big Pharma. Trump is unlike any other Republican or Democrat politician thus far as he’s not beholden to special interests as he comes from money and has friends from everywhere. This scares the deep state. He’s anti war and anti big Pharma and a bit of a conspiracy theorist/doesn’t trust the Pentagon or CIA. Essentially, he represents what most Americans think and feel about these issues. |
+1 And there is no doubt that if Harris wins, she will absolutely be doing the bidding of the immigrant lobby. This article makes it clear that she’s sounding tough(er) about the border while campaigning and none of the progressives are pushing back - yet. They know she has to be elected first and then they’ll have her ear. No thanks. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/10/06/harris-border-immigration-policy/ |

This is like asking why people are so worked up about abortion. |
Trump scares them because his philosophy is peace through strength and not being the worlds policeman or caring who is a bad guy or not. This is a man who donated to both Republicans and Democrats. He’s a pragmatist not an ideologue which scares the media who thinks you should only be in one gang and one side. Not Trump. He’s worked with Bernie on prescriptions and will work with RFK. He works with bad guys all his life and doesn’t think it’s his business to tell others to run their affairs or country. He also doesn’t believe in the give away economy. He doesn’t think the US should be the worlds sugar daddy and that we should be funding Polands military defenses when US farmers or seniors are starving. He’s a man who God has favored and even after two death threats will certainly be the next President in a few weeks in a history making Republican victory never before seen among all minorities. He’s going to unite America and heal it ..if they let him Watch Trump here in 1987 saying the same platform he says today even before he entered politics, meanwhile the one running against him had a complete opposite platform three years ago. |
The denial of progressives and radical liberals echoes the mindset of Biden-Harris. They opened the border with their executive orders, denied the resulting migrant crisis, laughably claimed the border was secure, claimed there was nothing they could do, then issued an executive order a few months before the election to get bad headlines about the border out of the news during the campaign. Neither Biden nor Harris are serious about stemming illegal immigration. Their actions, and inaction, speak volumes. I voted for Trump the other day, because I could not stomach voting for a candidate and party that neglects the most basic aspect of governance - to secure its own national borders. |
I can’t stand the people claiming that Biden is a moderate. He campaigned as a moderate, but governed from the far left. Just compare his administration to Obama’s administration. Biden pursued incredibly far left policies on spending, immigration, student debt, the climate, etc. Now, Harris is playing the same game, pretending to be a moderate on the campaign trail. However, if she wins, she will pursue the same far left agenda she and Biden have pursued during their time in the White House. I didn’t vote for Biden in 2020, but I believe he misinterpreted the electorate. Many people voted for him for a return to normalcy from Covid and Trump. He interpreted his election to mean he was given the mandate to be the new FDR. His administration was so bad and so unpopular, he ended up having to withdraw from his re-election bid, because everyone saw the writing in the wall that he was losing. If he had had a successful administration, Trump never would have been viable as a candidate after January 6. |
