I'm adding the strident William & Mary defender from the college forum to the list

That’s a new one. We have the UVA, UMD, Northeastern nutters. Haven’t seen a w&m one yet.

Why are the same schools raised again and again - and why do you feel the need to attack posters who defend those schools?

Sounds like you are the "nutter".

DP. If you're a regular on the College forum, you recognize the nuts to which PP is referring. They are completely over-the-top in their promotion / boosterism of those schools. Kind of sounds like you might be one of them...

No. But you do not have to derail college threads, or posts disingenuous threads feigning interest in colleges you want to disparage, because your posts subtract from the legitimacy of the college forum. Go fight your internal demons in your psychiatrist's office. Stop boring us with the same old schtick.

PP here and I agree with you. But you really can’t deny that the aggressive boosters are just as annoying.

The only aggressive posters I have seen are the (bolded) posters mentioned above. Anyone who responds to the negative posts are met with aggression. Why pretend you want to know more about a school that you obviously hate?

Chill out.

I don’t do any of those things. Just pointing out my observations.

I'm chill. But I do think that grown adults who have to comment on other people's choices are not so chill, and have serious issues. My neighbor was just admitted to Harvard. I can't imagine the work it took for them to do so, I am proud of my neighbor for basically winning the lottery. It would never occur to me to come to DCUM and vent my frustration that my DC was not admitted to Harvard.

Does a grown adult who comes to DCUM to comment on another person's choice of college (or choice of fill in the blank here) sound sane to you?

People who get into Harvard don't come here to vent about those admitted to GMU. Think about it.

You all sound insane.

It is insane for posters to disparage schools they or their children did not attend. It is not insane to refrain from posting about schools you or your child did not attend.

Fixed that for you.

Again, I don’t do any of those things. I was just pointing out my observations as a lurker. Are you this off-base and hostile on that forum too?

Not sure why anyone who claimed to "not do any of those things" would be so invested in this discussion.

Why would that PP assume I do any of those things in the first place? Such an angry nutter.

Has anyone said Fried Tuna Fish lady yet?

The poster(s) who feel the need to respond to fashion questions in the fashion board with some variation of: “fashion is so shallow, Wear what you want and be happy. I’m off wearing recycled clothes and curing cancer. I can’t believe people actually care about this stuff.”Etc.

Anonymous
Northeastern (in Colleges) poster who goes on and on about what an amazing, exceptional school it is. Unlike any other. Such a find!

I am sure it is great, but you must have some doubts to push it so hard.

What’s a gun shooting? Is it different from a shooting?

The deliberately obtuse poster who thinks s/he is cute.

Yes, and I wish people would stop responding in good faith to their inane questions.

What's a question?

I can't believe "Did you get fat" poster is not honored here!

There's "Grace" poster on Fashion forum, with regular serving of some tedious influencer that no one can relate to.

Ditto for those who come onto the LGBT board to talk about how "this is all a ridiculous phase that's sure to blow over" or go to the religion board and be shocked (shocked!) that there are religious people there.

I get you, but the fashion board never has any real fashion on it. It’s just a bunch of posters saying “that’s so fugly” and then responding with something that is, amazingly, even more fugly.

They vent about them. Look at the threads like “the cleaning lady stole my X!” The cleaning lady was someone admitted to GMU.

Did someone mention the poster who complains of the lack of library at Basis?

that eugenic-minded woman who thinks poor people shouldn't have kids.

The parent-hating teachers.

The teachers talking about those wild kids.

Nah. Not in the College Forum. The people from Harvard don't think about the GMU people at all.

But the reverse - people who went to lesser schools do vent about those who went to top schools - too often, and too obviously.

Maybe first and foremost, the better schools teach their people to stay in their lane. More likely, they simply do not care (to the extent that those who went to lesser schools think about others).
