Here's the deal. Roe is dead and gone and then the GOP is going to go after RU486 abortion pills, the morning after pill, and then regular old birth control. I guarantee you within a decade a very red state will make birth control prescriptions contingent on the permission of a man - your husband or father. That will probably raise some eyebrows.

It's going to take awhile for the real effects to be seen. Some blue states will enact laws guaranteeing access to abortion but with something like half of the states are enacting or are poised to enact laws against it's going to be many years in all likelihood. The years since 2016 have been whiplash. People are tired. They don't really fully comprehend what's going on or what has been going on. I mean, you have a female Supreme Court Justice just casually asking why a woman can't just be forced to birth a child and then "give it up for adoption." Meanwhile the realities of being pregnant, physically giving birth, and the foster and adoption infrastructure is never questioned or examined.

Yep. I am so glad I am 60 and only have sons.

Every woman who votes R is out of her damn mind.

There is good news in blue states for people like your mom in that none of the laws will ever force your mom or people with her views to get an abortion. She can be anti-abortion all day long. I’m a pretty smart woman who prefers to make medical decisions with my doctor and not invite my congressman into the room. I trust other women to make the best decisions with their bodies, too.

That deadly asp is the most Aunt Lydia of all the Aunt Lydias. She is the one who would gleefully sell you if she got the chance. She is Amelia Dyer. She is the Elizabeth Bathory of the SC. She is Mary I. Nothing, and I mean nothing, will stop her from installing the theocracy she and her fellow cultists have prayed over.

Since the GOP is fine with forcing people to do things against their will, Amy Coney Barrett should be personally forced to find conservatives to adopt every child forced to be brought to term. With no child deduction, WIC or any other taxpayer-funded benefit.

Here's a novel thought for conservatives:

If you don't believe in abortions, DON'T HAVE ONE.

Leave everyone else alone. Leave them their FREEDOM and LIBERTY you claim to support. Their business is none of your business.

I have two young daughters so I care very much that they are treated as humans, not just vessels for religious nutters.

The GOP is truly evil.

Nah. Find actual loving homes among Democratic families and fine the living sit out of forced birthers to pay for it. No need to raise those poor children in the homes of abusive lunatic forced birthers.

Except when Dems force medical treatments on our bodies right? Because really it's DEMS right to chose what women must do to their bodies.

Forced injections = okay

No abortion available = not okay.

Is that how your freedom in bodies works?

Would GOP forcing Deprovera shots on women be cool too? It would prevent all those maternal hemorrhaging deaths. And obviously unwanted pregnancies

+1. As a Mom, I am sick about this. I have two kids, a teen boy and young adult girl, and the thought of them (and their partners) not having the same choices I did about whether and when to have children is scary. I know how easily their lives can be derailed without access to reproductive choices.

I seriously would not have children in an environment where Roe was overturned. It’s about so much more than abortion - as another PP said this philosophy is based on the idea that life begins at conception and that will eventually mean restrictions on - IVF, any hormonal form of birth control or IUD (which includes all the most reliable forms), what women can do while pregnant, what health procedures are available to them in pregnancy and birth, etc.

There is a Constitutional right to an abortion. There is no Constitutional right to refuse a vaccine in the face of a destructive global pandemic.

Why are you singling out Amy Coney Barrett? Why not Clarence Thomas? Are you sexist and racist thinking that a black man can't possibly adopt children and therefore the only person who qualifies, without government assistance, is a white woman?

I challenge you to show me any place which is forcibly injecting people. Yes, there are “vaccine mandates” for people in certain lines of work which are either high risk to self or high exposure to others. Yes, you may be required to show that you have been vaccinated or recently tested to participate in some voluntary things like restaurants, cinema, etc. BUT, no one is forced to be vaccinated. If you don’t want to be vaccinated, you are free to refuse, as some 30-40% of the country continues to do.

P.s. You obviously don’t understand the pro-life at conception position, which would ultimately ban Depoprovera as an abortifacient medication.

These kinds of inapt analogies show how weak the position on abortion prohibition is.
