Most men I know are disgusted by this. My ancient uncle even just posted something on FB.
[twitter]https://twitter.com/redistrict/status/1307307434864717824?s=21[/twitter]
Here's the deal. Roe is dead and gone and then the GOP is going to go after RU486 abortion pills, the morning after pill, and then regular old birth control. I guarantee you within a decade a very red state will make birth control prescriptions contingent on the permission of a man - your husband or father. That will probably raise some eyebrows. It's going to take awhile for the real effects to be seen. Some blue states will enact laws guaranteeing access to abortion but with something like half of the states are enacting or are poised to enact laws against it's going to be many years in all likelihood. The years since 2016 have been whiplash. People are tired. They don't really fully comprehend what's going on or what has been going on. I mean, you have a female Supreme Court Justice just casually asking why a woman can't just be forced to birth a child and then "give it up for adoption." Meanwhile the realities of being pregnant, physically giving birth, and the foster and adoption infrastructure is never questioned or examined.
Yep. I am so glad I am 60 and only have sons. Every woman who votes R is out of her damn mind.
I have two young daughters so I care very much that they are treated as humans, not just vessels for religious nutters. The GOP is truly evil.
+1. As a Mom, I am sick about this. I have two kids, a teen boy and young adult girl, and the thought of them (and their partners) not having the same choices I did about whether and when to have children is scary. I know how easily their lives can be derailed without access to reproductive choices. I seriously would not have children in an environment where Roe was overturned. It’s about so much more than abortion - as another PP said this philosophy is based on the idea that life begins at conception and that will eventually mean restrictions on - IVF, any hormonal form of birth control or IUD (which includes all the most reliable forms), what women can do while pregnant, what health procedures are available to them in pregnancy and birth, etc.
