What’s going on with the two bills?

Manchin, ducking over America for what? How much is he getting paid? How much would these bills help his crappy state? And why do sociopaths cheer him on in this? Must be nice for Republicans to have not one but two turncoats in the Democratic Party helping to stop any and all progress no matter how many millions of Americans voted for it.

I'm cheering him on because the supply chain is f**ked up, inflation is at a 30-year high, gas is crazy expensive, and food prices are at record levels. How about the progressives focus on policies that are not guaranteed to increase those numbers with free unearned cash sent to pockets of people not working, never working, and won't be ever working again if this bill passes?

THIS!!! Thank you!!!

This is still all happening tomorrow right?

I want to know who this magical 51st Senator Jayapal is talking about is. I know its not her chamber, but it sounds like an alternate universe.

There are 48 true Democrats - 2 whatever Sinema and Manchin are - and 50 Republicans.

No Republican - Zero - Negative Never - will step out of line to vote for the BBB Bill.

Which means they can't lose either Sinema or Manchin. If they don't have both they lose. If they only have one they lose.

So where is the magical 51st Senator coming from? Hell where's #49 and #50?

The supply chain flocking began under Trump, as did so much of this mess. How about the GOP and the two GOP-lite Democrats actually negotiate in good faith to address problems? Who’s getting free unearned cash? CinnaMansion negotiated out a lot of damn important stuff. I am sick to death of the actual wants and needs of this country being held hostage to whatever right wingers want. “Win more elections!” We did! We still never get to make progress! Meanwhile the earth burns and the GOP is half excited by the prospect of making money off it and the other half is giddy because it fuels their end times delusion.

The Child Tax Credits are free unearned cash. They are sending out $300 month payments per child without limits to 97% of American families up to $400,000 in income. It doesn't matter if you have 8 kids or 13 kids. There is no means testing - the progressives balked even requiring households to earn a paltry $2,500/year to qualify. You don't even have to earn income - you just have to have a pulse and file taxes as a household. If you're making $55,000 as a couple, have 5 kids in Ohio - you are taking in $1,500/mo and $18,000/year just in CTC payments. At no point would your tax return have reflected a government check of $18,000. Its just not possible.

People are getting paid $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, $4,000 a month to have kids and there's neither a limit nor a stipulation. Free income. No requirements. For 18 years per child. Is it any wonder the workforce is decimated?

+1.

Narrator: Both will vote for it and VP Harris will break the tie.

Ahh got it - the former Governor and 3-term Senator who just held a press conference to flat out say he was willing to kill the bills, is just going to be supremely happy to vote on it tomorrow because the progressives whined about it.

Here's a shocker for you: Harris can't break a tie if Manchin, Sinema or both don't pass the bills.

Good luck.

Honestly, he seems to be the only one asking serious questions about the economic impact of the bill. The rest of these people are like crazed toddlers stuffing all of their pet projects into the bloated pig of a bill.

Its a horrible bill. I think they are trying to use Covid as an excuse for all of these crazy new entitlement spending projects. The child tax credit in particular has got to go.

Agreed. Its got all the f**king entitlements in it. One I could take. But all of them at once with sky-high inflation? Nope.

Not to mention amnesty for illegals..... something the Parliamentarian said could not stay. Guess they are hoping to slip that through anyway.

LOL Psaki issued a statement from where she's currently WFHing on her couch. She couldn't get in front of the cameras because of quarantine and of course Biden is off in Europe until who knows when.

I have no idea idea why they had that last-minute conference on Thursday and thought things wouldn't go off the rails the minute wheels were in the air.

Can't wait til Sanders and Jayapal get to a mike and say something they can't take back. If Biden has to fly back from the G20 early just to keep them from killing each other OH. MY. GOD.

He just wants to see the CBO scoring. So you will be disappointed.

It’s going to be awkward when the CBO score shows the reconciliation bill adds less to the deficit than his BIF.

By then it'll be December and the House will be wrangling every shitty bill the progressives decided to shuttle off into December.

Debt Ceiling.

Federal Shutdown.

Infrastructure Bill.

Social Spending Bill.

Highways Bill.

All of it has to be agreed and voted on in the weeks prior to Christmas.
