Personally I think Battlefield had the more talented players across the board. Oakton had a lot of seniors but not has much raw talent.

Facts.

Meanwhile, if you look at the team’s IG post after the win it doesn’t look like any of the players have a problem with COY, so why do you?
Anonymous
Probably because their “child “ didn’t get enough playing time or attention!!!

My daughter said that her teammate told her that her parent would not shut up…. Makes her miserable….
Why not let the girls make decisions about the COY and not a disgruntled parent trying to influence them.
I would encourage everyone to enjoy winning a State Championship it’s hard to do!

We are hoping that all the Oakton coaches leave! We have more talent but we probably made a few missteps and should have won that game! Time someone else wins a State Championship.

Agree, Oakton backer defense and their discipline really gave us trouble until late in the game. Adjustments needed earlier in the game. Their offense lack of ball handling late with our pressure defense allowed us back in the game. Great game except not winning!

As an assistant for Battlefield I just want to thank our players and parents for their support of our program. Everyday we are learning then teaching/coaching these young student athletes and our goal is to have a positive impact the short time we have the opportunity to coach them. We may make mistakes but we learn from these and move forward. These kids mean so much to the 4 coaches on our staff and each and everyone of them know that. Having kids break down in your arms playing their last highschool game really got to me yesterday. So much I had to take a break from coaching my YJ team.

I sympathize with players parents and coaches but at the end of the day the love of this game and the desire to coach will and never should harm these young women. Let’s celebrate Oakton Championship on this board.

If Battlefield thinks Oakton has bad coaching, then why are they hoping the coaching staff leaves?🤔 And anyone who thinks Battlefield has more talent than Oakton clearly has not watched Oakton all season. The total destruction of Robinson is one case in point.

Early lines have them as the favorite in the NVYLL 7/8A division. And their free ticket to championship weekend comes with the division trophy.

Hey dumbass. Oakton won that game. Congrats. Everyone else needs to shut up and move on

However, I’m pretty sure Battlefield just proved that they actually do belong this year. And guess what you idiots, Battlefield is only losing three starters

So you are confirming they are the early favorites to win 7/8A next year?

Without number 11 next year- I put the over/under at 5 wins

What does anyone know about Oakton JV? They are losing a ton of seniors so they must have some talent in JV they couldn’t bring up, no?

They have a very solid JV program that has some talented but raw players and it is well coached.

I don’t have my notes handy to call out specific players but I’ll leave it at they have a solid base coming up. 🙂

Agree to disagree. Whether they both deserved to play or not in the championship game doesn’t mean you play both if you are trying to win an actual championship

But hey, I’m an Oakton parent, glad you made the change. Worked out for our team 🤣🤣🤣

Funniest part about this is she cost them the state championship game and is now ditching them to go to BI🤣

No, You’re not the boss of me! 😂

It’ll be over when the thread for 2024 starts. There’s still fall ball, st James, the local tournaments and other crap to go this year. 😂

Joking aside, it was a great season.

I would love to have those “bad” coaches that just won a state championship and only lost to Madison both by 1 goal.
I understand that the assistants put together pretty solid game plans throughout the year. Anyone think that the players could have accomplished this alone are just foolish, no clue how coaching works and a team dynamic makes a ton of difference. Speaking with a couple of college coaches who were scouting potential players said that Oakton coaches seemed to understand the players and system they used were similar to what they utilize in their programs. They also stated that the coaching they felt they were receiving would help them transition at the college level. Congratulations to Oakton and keep putting out D-1 players.
We love having you!
