Anyone watching Mare of Easttown?

I just saw that Carrie is Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick's daughter! I didn't know she was an actress though guess that's unsurprising.

I have no idea who did it but Dylan is sketchy AF.

I am late to the game but bindge watched this over the weekend. SO GOOD. Also, I can't stop saying Murder Durder over and over.

The boys who would have been 14 years old at the time, opposed to his being early 20s? Give me a break.

Not sure where you got 14 years old, more like 16. Show starts around Jan 2020.

Kevin died in Feb 2018. Show is less than 2 years after that (Mare says in regards to his death, "It'll be 2 years in Feb."

Drew was born in 2015.

Erin was pregnant 2 years ago while in Frank`s class and after Kevin died. She got pregnant, Jan/Feb 2018, right before Kevin's death in Feb 2018.

DJ was born Nov 2018. 14 months old when Erin dies, born. Nov. She didn't get pregnant at family renioun of May 2017.

I shouldn't have said Erin got pregnant right before Kevin's death. More accurately to state it would have been around that time of Feb 2018.

Are we just writing off the peeping Tom/Betty Carroll thread.
Heart attack?

Red herring? Meant to distract us?

I saw somewhere that the actress passed away. I don’t know when. If it was during filming (and filming did take a long time due to the pandemic), they may have changed that story line and put it to rest.

There is no accuracy in this, you're getting yourself tied up in imaginary knots trying to date everything.

Thanks for that tidbit.

It was gracefully done in my opinion. The affair disclosure has become a running joke between my friends and I.

Jean Smart played it so well too.

Maybe Kevin picked up on the abuse and was murdered? Less a romantic connection with Erin, more like protective. I’m guessing that’s why she kept seeking out the deacon, for actual counseling. Murderer could be any of the adult Rosses.

I have a feeling that’s entirely wrong. It’s going to be difficult to watch.

I feel like Frank was disqualified too early. I don’t know why his fiancée would leave over the paternity test if he had a good excuse and she trusted him.

If his ex wife suspected he'd had an affair with one of his students - that might have been plenty to send her away. Unless of course it was her and this is a deflection.

Yeah, I guess so. But they seemed very happy initially. Just thinking that even if she had doubts, it would take her some time to figure out what to do. Moving out quickly and cutting contact makes it seem like she had reason to not trust him and there’s more to the story.

I keep reading people saying Lori is involved. I really hope not. Mare isn’t a bad person, and I don’t want her to lose her support system.

You realize this is TV right? Also it is a limited series, that means no season 2 to pick up the story...

Why the snark? I'm pretty sure that lots of people pick characters they like/don't like, are rooting for and are not rooting for. There are outcomes we want for certain characters and don't want for others...

In no way does that mean we aren't aware it is fiction.

I think the point is "mare isn't a bad person" makes you sound like one of those losers who watches daytime soaps and thinks it's real. "Mare" is entirely a fictional character, played by an English actress on American television. She's not a bad person because she ISNT A PERSON AT ALL

The point is she is so fantastic that it FEELS real. Really well done. Each episode I’m on the edge of my seat. In episode six I had to run away from the TV when the boy was drowning. Great writing & terrific performances by all.

Woah, slow down and chill. Watch how you speak to other people - be kind. This series is based off the real life town where the producer lived so it is true and real to people who live in area
