End of March most ECNL rosters are set (heck maybe even early/mid March), so yeah i think there will be some trapped players that won't have other options because they wouldn't be the top 10% that could make an ECNL roster by that point in time (i'm not saying only the top 10% make ECNL rosters, i'm saying at that point when 16 or 17 rosters spots have been filled, there won't be many options available) |
Ass-pire! Lmao |
Every parent will ask at McLean tryouts and if McLean can’t say they are GA then families will know they are GAAspire. |
It will be both. 1st team is GA and 2nd team is Aspire. |
oh god please no…. |
Just because they are wearing the same shirts next year, doesn't mean they have it together. Arlington's had four Girls Academy directors in the last four years. They've gone from being towards the top half of the table to consistently being in the bottom. New director is young, overwhelmed, and too inexperienced and it shows. Only two of their 08s (her team) have been recruited, and one of those to a satellite school no one's ever heard of. Meanwhile other top ECNL clubs are boasting of 7-8 or more class of 2026 recruits. There's no consistency and so the teams start strong and fizzle. Happened with the 08s, the 09s and soon the 11s. Don't be surprised if you see Arlington kids at NVA, FCV and MYS try-outs. Boys side isn't doing any better. Arlington survives because its talent is too busy to travel, but once MYS is a real possibility, kids will start to leave. |
ECNL forced merger with brave down their throat. Is anyone surprised a good club like mclean said fu. |
“For Current ECNL Players: We understand that this decision impacts many players within our club who are involved in ECNL. The opportunities available through the GA will offer a high level of competition, with exposure and growth opportunities. Our technical staff and coaches will be working closely with players and families to ensure a seamless transition into this new framework.” I did not get this part. MYS does not have ECNL. Not sure what they mean by current ECNL players |
Oh yes! It’s happening my friend. Get use to it |
This has to be a troll. Only someone deaf, dumb and blind would say that McLean is a good club at this point. |
This is it exactly. FVU has ECNL players, McLean does not. What is the incentive for current FVU girls to leave? |
GA |
The ones who wanted GA would have gone to SYC last year. Guess what? None of them did by choice. |
Assuming the girl has college soccer aspirations, there really isn't any.
I have to imagine the play by MYS here, which is understandable, is to rebuild their program by attracting the better not-quite-ECNL players, and stop the exodus of girls who were getting cut from Union and going to play GA at FCV and Springfield rather than RL. |
GA Doubtful. Competition is still better on average in ECNL in the Mid-Atlantic. Looks like BRAVE (VYS/BRYC) walked away with the better deal imho. Had to deal with a year of a McLean merger but picked up some extra talent that they will likely walk away with for the 25-26 season. |
