McLean leaving FVU

Those tryouts just got interesting. How much you want to bet that Vienna and BRYC will stab their current players in the throat for some McLean rejects.

An interesting question will be what happens with the FVU coaches who came from MYS. Will they stay at FVU or go back full time to McLean to coach GA.

GA is unequivocally better than ECNL-R and it’s not even close. Revolution is mid-table in GA and their teams are generally top 200 nationwide, while even the big club ECNL-R teams are 500-1000 and the small club ECNL-R teams are sub-1000. The gap between GA and ECNL-R is huge. I can see this move potentially complicating ECNL-GA choices for some players, but there is no way someone who can make SYC / NVA / MYS / VRSC GA should choose any ECNL-R team in the DMV.

Really? Ass-pire was just created yesterday. What other ass-pire teams are there for MYS asspire tonplay? Is there a SYC ass-pire team? Will there a Loudoun ass-pire team? Let the ass-pire league at least get a second team before you claim it’s better.

McLean may not be in great shape after this, but FVU IS DEAD.

ECNL did not sign off on this un-merger and killed BRAVE off itself one year ago - why would they not do it again?

BRAVE is geographically challenged - it is surrounded by clubs with better fields and better access to freeways. No one from anywhere outside of Fairfax City wants to drive to Robinson or Woodson during rush hour as the fields are nowhere near I66, 395 or any other roads you can possibly travel faster than 30mph.

Aspire is GA2 which SYC had since last year.
