McLean leaving FVU

Isn’t that why DCUM exists?

Very poorly written, if nothing else.

I disagree that it is poorly written. It is written intentionally to be misleading.

I think you guys are trying to cause parents to panic. They are getting GA and that’s final.

MYS will have 2 teams at each age group -- one in GA and one in Aspire.

In which case, what would be the incentive for MYS to be intentionally misleading?

Then why didn’t they say that? It’s not hard to say “MYS will field teams in both the current GA League and the newly announced GA Aspire League.” Instead, they said only the latter, and sprinkled around lots of ambiguous references to GA.

To relieve the strain on Arlington’s, VDA’s, and Bethesda’s websites from parents looking for coaching e-mail directories.

This is confusing. Is it GA or GA Aspire or both? Kids need to know what they are trying out for.

They left ECNL for the boys side to get MLSNext which leaves their girls with GA or most likely GA Aspire. They're being intentionally vague because they don't want to piss off a bunch of the girl parents by saying we went from girls ECNL (best league for girls) to GA Aspire which is a band new 2nd tier league.

Even the GA press release said that conference placement would be decided in the coming months. ECNL has their ID session the first week of March, all the top players will be signed up well before then. So be vague to try and pull as many players over and then be like "oh by the way, we're playing in GA Aspire, just like we said in our announcement" By then it will be too late for anyone to leave and they'll have full rosters

If it’s false information then it is easily remedied. MYS please put out a clarification that you have both GA and Ass-pire. If no note is put out then you can assume they are pulling a fast one.

I never said that is what was happening, PP asked what would be their incentive to be misleading? Well their incentive would be to keep as many players as they could possibly get because that is all clubs care about. if clubs didn't care about the number of players they had they wouldn't have 22+ player rosters or 3rd, 4th and 5th teams - none of that screams "player development'

Will this move help NVA attract better talent?

Yes, but the head-fake would last for about 5 minutes. Surely, no one is that dumb to think it will fly for longer than that and the market of parents and players will be like damn I didn't know this was for Aspire by the end of March. They thought of this right?
