Same. Honestly I hope this changes to a closure because this seems bad for the kids. It supposedly will be snowing when my MS kid comes home at noon.

and the high schoolers driving if it starts early.

Too many families will not pick their kids up early.

I have been through many early releases, and I’ve never had a student not get picked up.

I did I've had a lot sent to the office and the parents all said the traffic was bad coming from the city.

Well, yes, today we had a 3 h early release. And we will have 7 all together this year, not including snow days. Are you even an fcps parent?

They meant for the snow it's typically 2 hours go take your meds

It will be a waste of a day and most of it will be getting everyone to lunch

I believe only ES have a 3 hour early release plan starting this year for the Mondays. MS and HS do not appear to have schedules in place. Can someone please clarify ?

Oakton HS basically has 1 hr classes and is skipping 3rd period (advisory/Cougar Time). Lunch is 11:30-12, so any drivers can leave at 11:30.

I’m going to bet tomorrow becomes a senior skip day…

You forgot lunch. Where is lunch in your schedule?

Anonymous wrote:Cool. So a bunch of ES kids get two 3 hour early dismissals in a row. At least they'll get some learning in tomorrow before what I anticipate is the rest of the week off.

Maybe learn to read a weather report. It will be 53 on Thursday. We’ll be back in school that day.

If we only get a little bit of snow, maybe. If we get more than a little bit, then one day of 40s or 50s won't magic the snow away in an afternoon. It will definitely make a lot of ice overnight though.

You do know that it’s going to rain on Wednesday night? And temperatures will be above freezing on Thursday morning.

You don’t. Show up, teach as usual. Stop when you can and pick up the next class. Be flexible. Wed will likely be a snow day and you can adjust your plans later. It’s not that serious and doesn’t need to be that stressful. This is why I had to leave middle school. - hs teacher
