Snow Day next Tuesday?

We're seeing it on specialized meteorological sites, where models keep updating several times a day. The weather people in the general media are not going to risk a major prediction error, and take the reputational hit, by announcing anything this far out.

We have a very interesting month ahead:
1. Saturday, wintry mix, little to no accumulation.
2. And then it gets dicey: Tuesday and Wednesday, two consecutive thumps of snow. The timing is still not nailed down. The accumulation is still not nailed down. Latest models show iNtEresTinG quantities of snow, which might not actually happen, so meteorologists don't want to rile everyone up. I saw the GFS model hallucinate 18 inches total come Wednesday. We'll get less. Maybe 6 inches? No one knows for sure at this point.
3. Over the weekend, you'll want to check Capital Weather Gang daily for their enlightened predictions. I will post here on DCUM, or someone else will.
4. And then there's more stuff coming later in February

I don't know if I have ever met someone who is in more dire need of a hobby than you, PP.

Even CWG is saying snow. What are you smoking?!

AccuWeather shows 1.2 " snow Tuesday and rain. That's it.

NP here, maybe weather IS this person's hobby. That's a very valid pursuit IMHO.

Not going to calm down. Every year or so, FCPS has a reason to close schools for long periods of time. Snow, COVID, snow....
Long winter breaks are not necessary because weather does happen. School after SOLs does NOT count.

People were surveyed. The two-week winter break was an overwhelming favorite over an earlier school year end.

Best guess is a 3-6" snowfall right now on Tuesday. Given the terrible snow removal situation in this part of the world, I'd think that Tues/Wed could be cancellations. The Thursday storm looks like plain rain.

Like last Thu. Just rain

NP - and no need for this rudeness.

Clearly, PP is a hobby meteorologist! There are many! I follow two on YouTube .
