Same. Honestly I hope this changes to a closure because this seems bad for the kids. It supposedly will be snowing when my MS kid comes home at noon.

and the high schoolers driving if it starts early.

It will start as flurries. Not as a massive white-out blizzard condition like you seem to be envisioning.

Maybe learn to read a weather report. It will be 53 on Thursday. We’ll be back in school that day.

Maybe, but it goes up to 53 for literally an hour, the temps a couple hours before and after are in the 40s.

If we only get a little bit of snow, maybe. If we get more than a little bit, then one day of 40s or 50s won't magic the snow away in an afternoon. It will definitely make a lot of ice overnight though.

You do know that it’s going to rain on Wednesday night? And temperatures will be above freezing on Thursday morning.

It's going to rain and be 32°. A degree or two lower and that's ice. If we get closer to the 6" total, freezing rain isnt going to do much to clear it. I could see being back on Friday but I put Thursday at 50/50 chances.

3 hour early release is the worst of all possibilities.

Don’t be mad, but look at next Wednesday 🫣

Accuweather says "rapidly deteriorating road conditions" and "expect slow and slippery travel." I may not send my kids to school. Dr. Reid made a call a few weeks ago that was a mess too when so many side streets were ice-rinks.

Govt telling employees to vacate by 2 pm tomorrow.

I’m going to bet tomorrow becomes a senior skip day…

Lunch is the wrench in the system- we do 4x30 for lunch on a regular day. I’m guessing 43-45 minute classes and 4x20 lunch blocks at the end of the day.

I'm at a secondary school with 5 lunches. On early release days it's all grab and go, there is no seated lunch. 15 minutes from release to boarding buses to give kids time to get food, cafeteria staff is in the hallway with bagged lunches.

I laughed a little. More snow? I doubt it. It’ll definitely change over the next days!

It shows nothing for me. Just a cloudy day.

DP. And those flurries aren't supposed to start until 1pm, is that correct?

You forgot lunch. Where is lunch in your schedule?

Grab n Go on the way to the buses

My school is doing 30 minute classes except lunch block which is still 90 to accommodate all 4 lunches. I have to occupy them so they and they alone don’t get way ahead of all the other 4 classes. My daughter’s school is doing 45 minute classes and one whole school lunch. This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. There’s nothing I can do in 30 minutes that was worth going for.

Yep. This was a really bad call. Reid is simply trying to appease working parents who want childcare.

I think this sucks for them too, I think they’re all trying to thread the needle of not looking like they close for no reason but this is a waste of an instructional day either way you look at it.

Just call your high school driver out early if it starts to snow.

That is our plan.
