These decisions are in line with previous superintendent’s. The difference is that Taylor isn’t waiting until the last minute to announce decisions. He’s providing ample notice and attempting to give more insight into the decision making process. I completely understand why people question some of the decisions, but I’m pleased with his communication.

It's pure propaganda. What the school looked like at 9:30AM this morning isn't relevant. He's counting on people to not call him out.

Well, it’s an acceptable decision.

Only 1 in 5 houses in my Rockville neighborhood have cleared their sidewalks. The rest were too lazy Sunday night to clear them, and now it’s just frozen slush.

No, that would be a disaster.

Right. Teachers need some time to sleep off their hangovers from tonight.

Well that's not going to change this week

It shouldn't be. Expect more.

Most surrounding counties are also on a 2 he delay.

It’s fine. They played it safe.

He’s not submitting a sworn statement to a court of law that the photos depict current conditions; the photos are just supposed to be representative of conditions in different parts of the county before the sun has melted the slush that froze overnight.

Eh, you need to relax. I think on time would have been fine too, but I’m ok with taking precautions. Safety first.

The conditions aren't going to be significantly different two hours later. This decision is entirely based on giving teachers extra time to recover from a day of bringe drinking over the orange man and his crazy executive orders.

A two-hour delay doesn't improve safety.

He absolutely expects you to interpret those photos as reflecting current conditions. Don't be so naive. The schools are fine to open on time.

Howard announced early. Others waiting for MoCo (if largest district can't clean up in time, fine, we can't either!).
