McLean not laying down after Arlington ECNL

Big difference between a Burnley or an Arsenal. I don't want my kid to end up playing for a second rate pro team.

It’s Sheffield. Go to Arlington and then your kid can play at Burnley

On the girls side, talent does not move. Sure 1-2 girls move. Most people even ECNL and GA pick the club because it offers that level and is close enough to drive to to make it work with the rest of the family obligations.

Three kids on my DD team are daughters of doctors, more than that of lawyers. They want a shot to play in college sure but they do not care if it does not work. kids are going to be doctors, lawyers, or I bankers. There are some people over committed but the core at each club is not moving absent losing that ECNL or GA status.

This is not pro Arlington or pro McLean. It is just a fact.

This is very true, especially at Arlington and Mclean. The parents are on average more affluent than the parents at other clubs and are looking for wins and bragging rights, sure, but mostly they want their DD to have an elite college admissions hook, not a top-20 college soccer team. Watching how commitments are trending for both clubs, not a lot of difference between them in that regard. Parents are likely to choose the more convenient club and stay put if it’s working for their DD. Standard disclaimer: Boys’ sides are very different with different goals.

Parents sucesss doesn’t equal children success. Sure, you can die and leave them your money. That’s generational wealth. However, your kid can still be a rich POS because they weren’t raised in manner that made the face adversity. But you’re right, Most affluent parents care more about the name of the school and how it looks upon the family. Most at the level are going to get their kids job anyways. Another adversity the kid will never have to go through. To each their own.

By the way, the right one or two kids leaving can effect a team.

Anyone who pays 1,000,000 for 1800 square feet in Arlington is not that smart. Rich, perhaps. But not smart.

Not enough to be a more important component of athletics.

Its more than that....

When has McLean used Herndon or MSI as a feeder for its ECNL program. MSI is a glorified rec program. Herndon has some strong players but show me how it is a pipeline. Maybe those two clubs produce one player for McLean ECNL but that is not a strong platform.

I paid $1.0 million in 2009 and that same house is now worth $1.8 million. I am also next to Metro, can walk anywhere and a 5 min drive to DC and an airport.

God- I’m soooooo dumb.

They already have that on the Latin soccer message board. Mclean in VA. and Potomac in MD are the top racist clubs they talk about.
