On the boys side it would be to give mclean access to mls which is the stronger league. syc boy teams are better than mclean. in the deal mclean gets exposure to mls and syc to ecnl on the girls side. I have seen some comments that make it seem like mclean would be absorbing syc boys for ecnl but it sounds like the other way around. |
| Partnering with the devil? A little dramatic don’t you think? I don’t see FCV in the discussion |
I'm sure McLean took a page from the FCV playbook here. |
I'm not sure this is the case. Right now SYC has MLSNext for U13, U14. I'm not convinced they will get higher age groups unless DCU has a change of heart about the way they want things structured locally. If DCU has a change of heart then I'm stilll not sure SYC will get the higher age groups. So where would the kids go at U15 - McLean's ECNL spot - no? |
It sounds like German is worried about a little competition for Arlington. |
MLS doesn’t even exist but in your mind. |
I hope not. Successful clubs worry about being the best they can be, not about other clubs. Competiton is a good thing which should drive both competitors to be even better. |
MLS and GA are taking over the DMV area. What are you talking about? |
| MLS academy, homegrown, GA or aspire? Overdiluted. Any clubs going to this overdiluted league miss the point. ECNL recognized its leagues were over diluted and encouraged mergers and cuts. MLSN and GA did the opposite, your teams and leagues are indistinguishable and will be irrelevant soon. Everyone acts like 2nd divisions is first and no one knows the difference. |
OK, ECNL Dad. Your league is a joke. Arlington, VDA and 15 no make teams they each take turns beating up. |
| Not on my watch! |
If anyone is paying attention they would be smart to understand that ECNL will cease to exist in under 5 years. MLS Next immediate pathway to MLS academies, including money grabs like MLS2. Straight logical pathway for the alleged highest level of male youth socca. GA positioning itself to be the pathway for NWSL if NWSL plays its cards smart and doesn’t let money get in the way. USL does not seem like a solid disrupter to all of the above despite their promotion and relegation plan because it’s coming a dollar short and a day late. |
| Fear the brave |
Yes, ECNL will go bye bye. |
I’m curious. How is GA positioning itself to be the pathway for NWSL? |
