I know very few teachers who have actually been able to get a vaccine. What are you talking about?

Not surprising they are taking leave.

What? What school system are you in? That's hogwash. All the counties are having clinics for the teachers. Teachers are getting them before the elderly.

They just don't feel safe going back to school, I am wondering how many more teachers will end of taking leave after the kids go back next week.

Did they give back their vaccines?
My parents are still waiting for their vaccine in VA, despite being 70+ and high risk. They've been in full quarantine for a year. They had to get in line behind teachers. It's shameful if anyone called themselves a teacher to get a dose and then refuses to teach. You can't have it both ways.

Why didn't they sign up on the first day of sign ups?

The only teachers I know that are taking a LOA are doing it for childcare reasons. Also it's unpaid. They've decided that childcare would be too expensive vs their salary so they are staying home with their kids. It have nothing to do with vaccines.

I am not a teacher, but I took unpaid leave due to not being able to afford care as well. It’s a horrible choice many of us have had to make. I want to work. I miss my job.

Now, in February? Or earlier in the school year, such as last fall?

We need teachers vaccinated. We need virtual teachers vaccinated. We need hybrid teachers vaccinated. We need teachers returning at a later date vaccinated.

Last March. Again. I’m not a teacher. I’m sharing that not all of us have a work from home option.

If you're talking about things we need, we need for teachers not to quit in March. Vaccinated or unvaccinated. But we don't get what we need, do we?
