That was a different poster. |
Perhaps you can offer a safe haven? Do you have a yard, put out some chairs, coffee |
|
I agree that it would be best to ignore these losers. And I agree that violence only begets more violence. However, there is something wrong with ceding the streets of our Nation's Capital and the National Mall to these people so they can threaten, vandalize, and assault. There should be a massive police and National Guard presence to immediately intervene at the first sign of Proud Boy and neo-Nazi unlawful activity.

Ugh...I used to call them "bums", so.... |
The best time to improve ourselves is right now, so... "unhoused people" seems pretty easy for me to get behind. |
Well, if you stay home, the police can focus on protecting the homeless. |
|
They wouldn’t be unhoused if people here were willing to house them in their homes, instead of whining about “someone needs to do something”.
You CAN do something. Give them refuge. |
Bowser could declare it a weather emergency and open shelters to all. It will be a shitstorm of severe ignorance... |
How many such unfortunates are “housed” with you right now? Or are you just binding up loads for others to lift? |
| I would definitely open up quiet space in my yard if I lived closer downtown. Like the guy on Swann street who provided shelter for BLM protestors? Would any of you not? |
This. I wish they would declare a nazi emergency and open the shelters. |
| Are the protestors over the next few days going to cause as much damage as the BLM protestors? I have not noticed the boards going back up downtown. Well everybody stay safe. |
Yeah, it's at least as boarded up if not more. But the real risk here is human bodies, which, I'd argue are more important than windows. |
+1 |
| Do you think they'll actually show up? Hardly anyone came last time (measured against the size of gatherings DC is used to handling). |
