It was still a problem for the businesses disrupted and Bowser could have better deployed the police (who have been on the defensive from our Council and defund types for the little action they DID take) and called up the National Guard. No windows should be smashed, buildings defaced, people threatened ever. And it is preventable. How she chooses to act tomorrow is up to her, but it doesn't excuse the inaction this summer or in future demonstrations that are more aligned with wokedom but also bring mayhem to our streets.

DC Police have been preparing and have deployed their Civil Disobedience Unit and, as another poster noted, National Guard are being deployed. Unfortunately the Natl Guard will not be armed and are to help with checkpoints of incoming traffic only. That will at least free up DC police to address violence.

If you are supposed to work downtown I highly recommend you use sick leave. I also recommend staying home and off the streets as much as possible, even in the outer reaches of the city. These folks want to hurt DC people - black, white, Hispanic, whatever. They see us ALL as the enemy - minorities, elites, Democrats, moderates, RINOs. If you aren’t one of them, they believe you fall into one of these categories and they hate you. They are all hate groups and they are bringing their toxic hatred to our city. Let the police handle them.
