Bowser asking Washingtonians to stay out of downtown Tues and Wed

This is being reported by multiple, credible sources. Further these groups have been giving advice to their members on “How to smuggle guns and weapons into DC” for the 1/6/21 gatherings. They have also made threats to hang and shoot those that oppose them. There are numerous dangerous and violent groups, again including armed MILITIAS that are planning to gather in DC to stop the “fraudulent election” from being certified. These folks are scary as hell. They ARE coming to DC and if you are not one of them, they will attack you. They attacked random, innocent, passersby last time they were here.

Tonight DC Police arrested the head if PROUD BOYS fir burning a BLM banner that he ripped off a DC church last time. They found 2 semi automatic, high capacity firearms on him and added possession of those to the charges. If that isn’t proof of the planned violence and use of smuggled weapons these people are planning, and you still want to go downtown, then you are an idiot.

DC Police have been preparing and have deployed their Civil Disobedience Unit and, as another poster noted, National Guard are being deployed. Unfortunately the Natl Guard will not be armed and are to help with checkpoints of incoming traffic only. That will at least free up DC police to address violence.

If you are supposed to work downtown I highly recommend you use sick leave. I also recommend staying home and off the streets as much as possible, even in the outer reaches of the city. These folks want to hurt DC people - black, white, Hispanic, whatever. They see us ALL as the enemy - minorities, elites, Democrats, moderates, RINOs. If you aren’t one of them, they believe you fall into one of these categories and they hate you. They are all hate groups and they are bringing their toxic hatred to our city. Let the police handle them.

“They found two high capacity semiautomatic firearms on him.”

No they didn’t. They found two empty magazines. Do you even know what a semiautomatic firearm is?

Oh, and he’s already been released and told to “stay out of town.”

One of my most woke friends kept posting photos of the Statue of Liberty crying when the National Guard was called up this summer. I can't stand hooliganism period, but the lack of self -awareness of the left just makes me wonder.

Conservatives who believe in local government should recognize a meaningful difference between the mayor of DC calling up the DC National Guard, on the one hand, and the president calling up the National Guard of other states, against the wishes of the mayor of DC, to go into DC, on the other.

Conservatives who believe in freedom and limited government should also recognize a meaningful difference between the DC National Guard, with identification on their uniforms, and unidentified goons in riot gear.

Were they not protecting Federal Property and monuments?

No. No, they weren't. No.

Ok, let us explain. Criminals love to have a cover that is distracting the police, like a big protest maybe. So when that is happening, the criminals (who are not the protesters) take advantage of the situation and get their liquor and meds free.

Protecting the Lincoln Memorial from people in shorts and T-shirts. That was so embarrassing. They even looked embarrassed, as far as you could tell with all of the body armor etc.

Gee, why would he have magazines on him? What are magazines used for?

But keep making excuses.

Keep telling yourself that, one day you might believe it.

I don’t want them here, but all the hype about this is a bit absurd. They are obviously not who was vandalizing and looting everything in sight this spring/summer. Hope they don’t set off another round of five finger CVS discounts.

There is literally footage of these people vandalizing from just a few weeks ago.

Same here. The hypocrisy is mind boggling.

So glad others see the hypocrisy. I feel like I’m losing my mind. Wasn’t there total hysteria about the national guard being called up when the city was legitimately being looted???! Can we just not do this on either side, please.

I agree. Bowser should have called up the DC National Guard to protect downtown buildings from vandalism, businesses from looting, includings but not limited to liquor stores and CVS. Also eyeglass and every other kind of store. I don't care who was "behind it"-the businesses and property should have been well protected. I am glad there were some protecting federal properties. I'm sure they were embarrassed they couldn't spread out and do more due to resistance from city leaders. And I'm glad that Bowser has come to her senses and called up National Guard; she should do so for any potential for prolonged vandalism--not pick and choose sides.

Would you like your Guardsmen to wear shorts and T shirts as well? That's good as they are not allowed to wear body armor tomorrow. I'm sure they appreciate that.

The main difference between BLM and the current crazies gathering in DC to try and subvert the Constitutional process are the current ones have admitted, on social media and other public forums, to attempting to Smuggle guns and weapons into DC, to hang and/or kill anyone who is against Trump, and in fact actively sought out innocent bystanders to assault the last time they were in town (it’s on record)

None of that happened during the BLM protests. Personally, while I think looting and destruction of property is horrible it’s certainly preferable to murder and physical violence against anyone.

The concern tomorrow isn't about vandalism, as I'm sure you know. People don't talk about the weapons they're planning to bring (illegally) when the goal is breaking windows, spray-painting walls, and taking things from liquor stores and CVSes.
