It sounds like you've only read about bullying in books or listened to podcasts. Bloody their nose and they'll back off. Show weakness and they pick on it.

You talk pretty tough while posting anonymously. What are your plans? Are you going to risk being shot or are you just encouraging others to take the risk?

I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm frustrated that there isn't a bigger response, which would have lower risk to us.

Why not do what elected officials and law enforcement are asking you to do? Stay home. Stay out of their way and let them do their jobs. You are a hindrance and a distraction - exactly what these “protesters” want you to be.

The last times they were here law enforcement was giving them first bumps and looking the other way when they started attacking people.

I'm not really clear on the connection between these two things. Those who have been following the planning and organizing of these protests say that there is considerable attention to bringing guns and strong desire for conflict. I think it is best to leave any shooting to the police and the shooters. No reason to involve counter protesters. I obviously don't think anyone should bring a protest sign to a gunfight and nor do I want gunfights between protesters and counter protesters.

What would you do if the Klan was planning a cross burning here and the Mayor was both sidesing it?

I don't know what I would do but that is not the situation we are discussing so I don't know why you are bringing it up. What we are discussing is a large group of likely armed angry people who are seeking conflict. If you want to go stand in front of a bullet, be my guest. If you think that bringing your own gun is the solution, I hope you are arrested.

I can't help you if you're don't see the connection between a "large group of likely armed angry people who are seeking conflict" and a cross burning by the KKK.

I don't suggest going armed. I also don't think they'll start shooting if there are 10,000+ of us and only a few hundred of them. I think they'll stick to their circle jerk wherever they have protests permits and not bother the rest of DC.

I didn't say that I don't see a connection. I said that we discussing something different. There are connections to all kinds of things that we are not currently discussing. Moreover, I don't remember asking for your help. But, thanks anyway.

Good.

So its OK this time, but was a tragedy for America when they guarded the Lincoln Memorial this summer? I'm glad they have been called in both times, and I thank them.

Did you see them facing off in their riot-gear-clad phalanxes against protesters in tank tops and shorts? Somebody looked pretty silly in the pictures, and it wasn't the protesters.

It's an entirely different situation with the violent drunk fools expected on Wednesday.

At least I dont have to die....I'll "pass away".

long live euphemism!

Referring to people as "homeless" or "slaves" or other terms like that is dehumanizing.

"Unhoused people" makes you think and talk about them as PEOPLE.

"People who were enslaved" makes you think and talk about them as PEOPLE.

I know you're more comfortable thinking about "slaves," so I'm sure you won't give it another thought.

Your semantics aren’t very convincing as you likely are highly selective in which nouns you wish to replace with compound phrases. Some of us retain the ability to understand that the homeless are, and slaves were, indeed people. Do you plan to refer to police as “policing people” or to Senators as “elected people”?

So the Proud Boys and other Trump supporters, including armed-white-supremist Militias are planning to come to DC and have put out numerous calls on social media and other encrypted platforms fir their followers and members to “ PUT BOOTS ON THE GROUND” in DC to stop the election from being stolen from Trump. This is being reported by multiple, credible sources. Further these groups have been giving advice to their members on “How to smuggle guns and weapons into DC” for the 1/6/21 gatherings. They have also made threats to hang and shoot those that oppose them. There are numerous dangerous and violent groups, again including armed MILITIAS that are planning to gather in DC to stop the “fraudulent election” from being certified. These folks are scary as hell. They ARE coming to DC and if you are not one of them, they will attack you. They attacked random, innocent, passersby last time they were here.

Tonight DC Police arrested the head if PROUD BOYS fir burning a BLM banner that he ripped off a DC church last time. They found 2 semi automatic, high capacity firearms on him and added possession of those to the charges. If that isn’t proof of the planned violence and use of smuggled weapons these people are planning, and you still want to go downtown, then you are an idiot.

DC Police have been preparing and have deployed their Civil Disobedience Unit and, as another poster noted, National Guard are being deployed. Unfortunately the Natl Guard will not be armed and are to help with checkpoints of incoming traffic only. That will at least free up DC police to address violence.

If you are supposed to work downtown I highly recommend you use sick leave. I also recommend staying home and off the streets as much as possible, even in the outer reaches of the city. These folks want to hurt DC people - black, white, Hispanic, whatever. They see us ALL as the enemy - minorities, elites, Democrats, moderates, RINOs. If you aren’t one of them, they believe you fall into one of these categories and they hate you. They are all hate groups and they are bringing their toxic hatred to our city. Let the police handle them.

If a situation erupted before 1/20 where the sitting president could declare martial law, the president elect could not be inaugurated.

Sad Sad times.

I put nothing past the sitting president's desperate attempts at holding power.
