I don't know who the Democratic candidate for governor in MD will be, but I know they will be getting my vote.

Stupidest "logic" ever.

I disagree. One of the most concerning aspects of the past year has been the willingness of many Republicans, even those who purport to be moderate and oppose the extremism that Trump supports, to make excuses for Trump, white Nationalists, and those who would destroy our democratic institutions and principles. The willingness of the Republican Party to allow and facilitate this calls into questions whether the party itself has any respect for the foundations of our democracy. Until the party can demonstrate that the answer is yes, no one who identifies with it can be considered a responsible political actor.

Except that doesn't describe Governor Hogan in the least bit. He has stayed out of the fray and minded his own business, which is running the state of Maryland. I know many on the left want him to denounce the President, but that really has nothing to do with his role as Governor and would only serve a political purpose, something he has intentionally avoided.

I don't know if he is going to win, but I'm not going to vote for him, and I'm not going to vote Republican for a long time either, for the reasons explained by others in this thread.

I don't care if Hogan has "minded his own business," as he hasn't done anything of significant value to me and his political party is destroying the country.

Hogan has denounced the president on certain occasions, like after the violence in Charlottesville.
During the primaries he spoke out against Trump and later he said that he would not vote for him in November (although based on his statements it seem like he didn't vote for Clinton either).

If it weren't for the school scheduling mandate, I would be 100% behind Hogan.

I am not a huge fan of that decision either. (I actually opening after Labor Day is good, but think it should be left to the counties to decide.) But that isn't nearly enough of a reason for me not to support him. If the Democrats nominate a centrist candidate, I would think about it. But that doesn't seem the direction they are heading in the primaries.

Hogan's biggest problem is that he is a nice guy who hasn't managed to do much of anything for three years, including attracting business like he promised.

You realize that's the opposite of "leadership," right? He sounds like a total p#ssy, afraid to show moral backbone because he's scared of a primary challenge.

What a wuss.

Case in point. Whose fault is it that the heat isn't working in Baltimore schools? So much corruption and mismanagement. You want to blame that on the Governor too?

Careful, your racism is showing.

Since he did grandstand on a/c in Baltimore County, maybe he could do something to help the city? After all, he hasn't made met the Thornton funding commitments.

Instead, he goes with he just ignore Baltimore and maybe it will disappear approach. That will really help business development efforts in the state. How many Fortune 500 companies has he managed to attract? Oh, that's right, zero.

Hogan should declare martial law in Baltimore. The city has been going downhill since Willie Don left the scene.

I sure hope so.

I will definitely vote for Hogan! The Democrats have absolutely nothing to offer me at this point and stage in my life. I'm an Independent who despises both parties, but at the end of the day I have to vote for the individual who I think is the less damaging and divisive to Maryland. That person is Hogan.

Literally ANY democrat is going to kick Hogans fat cancer riddled ass. Doesn't even matter who. We could literally run a cat against Hogan and win. A cat. A cat.

Voted for Hillary but will be voting for Hogan.

And to the PP, ‘cancer ridden fat ass’? You are everything the general population detests about the liberal elite left.
