My students were either very wealthy nationals or wealthy internationals. Most of their mothers were trophy wives. When I asked my students what their mothers did they would say, "she goes to the gym". The moms were all beautiful, super skinny, cosmetic surgery. It takes a lot of work to maintain that image. Also many get replaced by younger versions.

I have had the day dream. But in mine I am married to a man that is much older.

You don't know whose a trophy wife or not because you don't know their individual stories.

I am a trophy wife and it's not a dream come true. I married a 50 year old divorced guy when I was 32. I'm now 37 with two young children and my DH, who has two older children, really doesn't care to be fully engaged in parenting. I've got a beautiful home, nice car, household help, a country club etc. he does like to show me off and I still do show well but we sometimes seem to be leading separate lives. It's very difficult for me to complain but I do wish there was a lot more love and partnership. I do realize that many women wish they had my life but if you have love with a real partner you have something special.

True. I get all the perks of marrying a man that I love who is my age, a family, and trophy wife perks.

If you marry for money you will earn every penny. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

I'm a SAHM and dream about doing this once we are empty nesters.

trophy wives are a trophy. they are extremely attractive and maintain themselves well. one of their purposes is to be seen on their husband's arm. they aren't necessarily moms, either.

SAHMs are just moms who stay at home. there are families across the SES spectrum that make tradeoffs to have SAHMs.

Big difference. Trophy wives are beautiful. They could be models. They are also smart, sohisticated, and cultured. They are show pieces and are trohies for very wealthy husbands. A sahm could be any one.

Yes I do. They are significantly younger than their husbands, they could be models, do not have a job and spend most of their time maintaining their looks. That is a trophy wife.

I am a huge reader. I LOVE to read. I feel like I could spend a couple hours in the afternoons doing just that. Add in classes at the gym and that probably eats up most of the day. Alas...

Actually no. I would want him older so that I wouldn't be replaced by a younger version. Being a trophy wife is a full time job with stress.
