Waitlist calls?

It's not really relevant because she got the spot because her younger kid got pulled up the waitlist because her kindergartner got offered a place.

I hope it is for PK4, we are #37 for PK3, and received no call.

Called LAMB and they said everyone accepted for PK4. I'm hoping that those people change their minds!

I thought they didn't even offer PK4 slots this year (or maybe this is continuing students). We are in top 5 for PK4, but not looking good at this point.

I don't think this is correct. When the WL numbers were ordered, they should have already taken into account the sibling preference. Shouldn't they have? I've looked at all the WL numbers in the common app, and the ones at the top of the WL all have some kind of preference, and then those without any preference come after that.

It is correct. Siblings at the top of the list are there because their sibling is already attending the school (not possible with a new school like Lee) or has already been admitted. What happened in PPs case is that her K child got called from the waitlist and admitted which meant that her PK child got pulled to the top of the PK waitlist and offered a spot. The PS3 list at Lee has barely moved so far, likely because of siblings being pulled up (called yesterday and heard we'd moved up 3 places only). It even says this on the Lee website: "Please remember that Lee Montessori PCS offers Sibling Accepted Preference and therefore your wait list number is subject to change to accommodate siblings."

The preference only applies if a sibling is matched through the lottery. In this case, both children were initially waitlisted.

Sibling preference always applies, but the sibling is only pulled up the list if one child is admitted, so it's only reflected on public waitlists if one sibling is already attending or has been offered a spot.

I am keeping hope alive for LAMB PK4 anyway. Maybe since it was not in the common lottery, people applied who aren't committed to either Montessori or Spanish immersion OR the commute.

We'll be happy to take their spot be it May, August or October!

I'm the PP that your responding to. Thanks for clearing that up. That makes perfect sense. Well, that stinks for me. My half decent WL number may not be that decent after all.

This was a call to a school, but a friend's kid went up a few slots at Cap City.

Hello, I'm the Lee person. The #44 WL was for a PK4 spot. We decided last night to accept. This will free up two spots at their current school, Capitol Hill montessori, for anyone WL there. Good luck to all!!

Congrats! I was hoping you'd decline though (nothing personal!) because I wanted that K spot and we're only few places behind! Fingers crossed there is more movement.

Just got a call from AppleTree Amidon. Anybody else got a call and are accepting?

Out of curiosity, why the move to Lee over CHML? We don't have good WL #s for either, but they are both on our list.

Sounds like Basis 5th grade moved about 10-15 slots
