No, I think they were aware of at least a few before lottery time and adjusted accordingly. But with 4 students leaving, it increases the chances of more WL movement throughout the summer as accepted students later decline or any other type of WL scenario. Just increases the odds rather than having 1 open spot float around. |

We are staying with the school we moved into zone for, but we got calls from both Watkins and Francis-Stevens for third grade. If we'd rented something closer to them instead of going for the good zoned school, (something that wasn't finalized when I entered round 2 of the lottery) I'd be thrilled.
So I say this as someone who moved to DC just in time for the second lottery with an upper grade kid--the lottery does move, apparently. We did have very low numbers for both though, even considering it was second round. |
| We got a call for Stokes for PK yesterday. We were top 10, turned it down as we are moving out of the District. Good luck to those who are waiting! |
Thanks! Pk 3 or 4? |
They've known. It's not a surprise. |
Also interested to know! |
| Had a really good spot (single digit) for Washington Latin for 9th grade but with sibling preference we were pushed back. |
PK4 (3 year olds= PS, 4 year olds= PK) |
Not anymore. It's now PK3 and PK4, no more PS. |
| Any recent waitlist movement? |
| Someone posted on another thread that they got called from SWW@FS for PK4, with a number of 19. |
| Some movement at Shining Stars, perhaps? |
| Friend got into Cap city for PK4. |
| Bump. Seems like there might be a lot of calls this week or next? Anyone? |
| We got a call from Bridges for PK-3 saying we were "near" the top of the WL and asking whether we were still interested. We had been in the 140 or 150 range on the WL so I was surprised. We turned it down even though we ranked Bridges # 1 in the lottery, b/c my son got into Creative Minds (through their separate lottery) and we are now really excited about it. |
