I've switched from praying that DC is open to praying that the Fed is closed (my non-profit job follows the Fed closings). I cannot handle another missed day of work because of school closings.

Tomorrow night is Kaya Henderson's annual budget address at McKinley Tech and Obama is scheduled to go to Powell elementary in the morning. Safety be damned, our leaders have photo ops and speeches to make. School will be open.

They still have a couple of those stupid professional development days they could cancel. Our street hasn't seen a plow and has a solid inch of ice on it. During the 10 inch snow storm, we saw a plow 3 times during the morning of the storm. Not sure why they aren't plowing neighborhoods this time around? Anyone know?

DCPS teacher here. I'd really prefer to have school tomorrow--I totally agree with the PP above who said there's been no momentum since winter break--but I just don't see how they can have school if the buses aren't running. I have a car, but a good number of my coworkers don't and my school is not metro accessible. Not to mention all of the kids who use the bus citywide. I just wish they'd call it so we'd know.

Agreed, but it's the late calls that annoy me more about DC than anything else. I can live with a bad call, but a late one is annoying!!!
