OP here. Just to update: DH's issue has been resolved, for the most part, but unfortunately we haven't gotten pregnant again yet 4 months post miscarriage. It's disappointing because my doctor made it seem like we'd get pregnant again right away because women are "so fertile" after a D&C.
Had family in town this weekend and they were meeting my sisters kids for the first time. She made it a point to brag in front of me how each one was conceived first month TTC. I wanted to jump across the table. I didn't realize it until now but the irony in this post is I was pregnant and hormonal when I started this thread (but didn't know it yet). Sigh. |

I'm sorry OP. I've had 2 D&Cs and didn't get pregnant soon after either of them so I think the whole story about being more fertile after one is a bunch of BS.
Does your sis know about your issue? |
Sister knows but after some rude "move on" comments I don't talk anything ttc or baby related with her - or anyone else - anymore. She and my friends came around to rubber neck the train wreck and a week after didn't want to hear about it anymore so I keep to myself. At least that's how it feels. |
I'm sorry, OP. I feel your pain. After my miscarriage, I feel like I held back the grief because I kept telling myself I'd be pregnant again soon. And I'm still not pregnant. Meanwhile, a relative recently had a baby, knows about my miscarriage, and never stops with the "so blessed to be a mom" and constant in-my-face about how great it is to be a mom. I don't know why people are so lacking in tact and class. But they are. Women who brag over fertility are ridiculous. Fertility isn't something to brag about. And if I've learned anything from this entire experience, it will be not to be self-righteous or annoying if I ever do become a parent. Anyhow, I wish you luck. |
| OP here to update - got a faint bfp today 10dpo. It's pretty light but dark enough to show up in a picture. Praying for a sticky and healthy bean!!! |
| Hooray you! |
| OP here. Looks like it's going to be a chemical, took a test this AM and barely anything was visible. I just want to crawl under a rock. |
| OP- don't give up hope , test later in the day. With ALL of my oregnancies my lines showed up way lighter first thing in the morning. It defies all logic because I always thought first morning urine would give a darker line, but nope. I have gotten upset about a "miscarriage" more than once because of this and felt stupid afterwards. Hope something similar is happening to you! Good luck! |
Thanks I think I'm out of luck though...yesterday it was very faint but dark enough to where it was visible without squinting and also showed up in a camera phone picture to a close friend. This morning however it was nearly negative - almost completely white. I guess time will tell but I am just gutted. |
| OP - I posted on the other thread about POAS - I am in the EXACT same boat as you. I am 11dpo today. Had a faint BFP yesterday- was VERY faint but DH saw it (the kind of squinter you have to turn side to side and examine under bright light). This morning it wasnt any darker. I am thinking chemical also. This is the WORST. I am literally exactly charting the same course as you and I feel your pain. I had a chemical when I was TTC the first go round (I have a DS). Chemicals dont mean you cant get pregnant (I am proof), but they're emotionally the WORST. |
| Well I just went to dr to confirm I lost the pregnancy and their urine test was positive. Why was mine negative then? Anyway they took beta (will get results tomorrow) and have a 2nd scheduled Monday. So confused but trying to keep telling myself I am pregnant and to enjoy it while it lasts! |
| OP what brand were you using at home that you got a negative this morning and a + at the doctor?? |
Name brand first response. That's why I was so confused. It wasn't stark white negative but I had to tilt it and squint to see anything - much lighter than the previous afternoon's test. I could still be losing the pregnancy, I'm just wondering why theirs was positive. I asked her minimum 5 times to make sure and that she wasn't confused. |
| This is the PP who also thinks having a chemical- that's my situation too- faint faint have to squint and twist it various directions. Does your faint line show up quickly or do you have to wait for it? Let me know what the HcG level is. my IVF clinic wont do a beta HcG at 11dpo |
It was an immediate squinter. I checked on it 10 min later and it was the same. Will keep you updated and good luck to you as well! |
