Ps I'm not OP |
OP: this is the other poster with the faint lines. I'm in limbo hell. My line is getting darker but still nowhere near as dark as control. It's 13dpo and I got a positive digital today but bfn digital yesterday. Line is still v light but darker every day. Am convinced I'm having a chemical but it may drag out. Light lines like this mean low low beta... Ugh. Sorry about your DH- have you told him how you feel about his behavior?
OP here - just a quick update. I took a test this afternoon expecting to see faint or fainter and it came up super dark! Almost control line dark! I wonder if it was just too early at 11dpo for a blood test despite the faint pos on frer...so curious at this point! Still having brown spotting but AF (due today) has been a no show despite some cramping. Fingers crossed.
Well despite the super dark bfp yesterday I miscarried in the middle of the night, I was woken up with cramps and bleeding/clots. The increase in numbers must have been too little too late. Second miscarriage since my original post in October. Good news is DH has been extraordinarily supportive all night and checked on me in the bathroom and rubbed my back. I want to crawl under a rock and now I'm scared there's something wrong. I feel this is all stemming from a LEEP I had last summer. Anyway, sorry for the sad news. Onward...
So sorry OP. Hugs. What is an LEEP? Were you taking progesterone support? Might be worth looking into that?
I had a LEEP cone biopsy for stage 3 cervical pre-cancer (last stop before cancer). They removed the front of my cervix but fertility problems are rare. In fact we didn't get pregnant until after the LEEP in June 2013 so I think it helped us get pregnant by removing all the bad cells - but maybe it has affected my ability to retain a pregnancy? I found a medical study released December 2013 after my MMC in November 2013 that found there was a six-fold increase in first trimester miscarriages within 1 year of LEEP. I thought maybe it was related to that but maybe it was also fluke - now I'm wondering if it's not fluke. Luckily margins were clear but it could return which makes me feel pressed for time. Or it could just be a hormonal issue - or genetic - or just bad luck. I am going to the dr tomorrow to rule any of this out. I am only 28 years old but my husband is 43. I'm wondering if he should get checked too. Also I just took a test hoping to see nothing - it's more faint than yesterday's blaring positive but still very obviously positive. I wonder how long until it disappears? I promise I'm not one of those crazy women all over the TTC boards reading into every little thing, I have just run out of people to talk about this all to. Both of my best friends are pregnant and my family (all a bunch of fertile myrtles) and husband are supportive but tired of hearing about it. He did bring me coffee in bed this morning so points to him for that. |
OP again. Went to dr today for follow up beta. Will have results tomorrow. Drs urine tests still positive after a beta of 2 on Thursday. Doctor said this should be impossible and is completely stumped. He even asked if I worked in an environment where I worked with animals and was exposed to hormones. Looks like miscarriage but I'm worried something else is wrong if tests should be negative now.
Op what happened??
Just spoke work nurse and yesterday's beta was shockingly 39. Spoke with a nurse and waiting for dr to call me back. Beta was 2 on Thursday and I have continued to bleed. Hope it's not ectopic but clearly something is wrong.
OP, how many DPO are you? Could be implantation bleeding and you misunderstood when you O'd? I have a friend who went to an RE for day 2 of her period bloodwork, and she found out she was pregnant- Hcg was 29. she thought it was day 2 of her period, but she was like day 26 of her cycle and she was bleeding from implantation. Are you sure of your O date? What did the doctor say? If you really are 16 DPO with a beta of 39, that's not great. but keep us posted.
OP here. At the doctor waiting. I have a 25 day cycle since my D&C. My last normal period was February 18th and I didn't opk so I can only assume I ovulated March 2nd (going by a calendar). We had sex that morning and I wound up pregnant so I guess it's possible that I ovulated later and swimmers were still hanging around. But if we are assuming the 2nd then I got faint bfp 10dpo, beta of 2 11dpo, assumed period 13dpo, beta of 39 15dpo. I suppose it's possible I ovulated 2 or 3 days later making that beta of 39 an earlier dpo. But then what about the period? This is all so weird. I did take a clear blue digital yesterday which requires hcg of 50 and it was positive 1-2 weeks. So I guess they're still going up.
OP, what did doctor say? what were results? Hmmmm. My Clearblue was positive the day before a beta of 23 which was a chemical pregnancy. So digitals can pick up way lower than 50. But it does sound like maybe you miscalculated your O date and maybe the bleeding was implantation bleeding, not a period? That would be AMAZING. fingers crossed. keep us posted
I hope you got good news OP. I agree that clear blue digital can pick up less than 50 most of the time, but the companies want to be conservative in their ads/materials to avoid a bad name. Your period may be implantation bleeding, a miscarriage (I hope not) or you may be like me and tend to bleed during pregnancy. I had on and off period like bleeding from 4-9 weeks. So not fun, especially after 4 miscarriages. Good luck to you, let us know how the appt went.
OP here - number went from 39 to 46 so I am guessing this is an ectopic. It would explain all the bleeding and cramping still. More bloodwork tomorrow.
OP, it may not be an ectopic, but it's clearly not viable because the number is low and not doubling. I hope it resolves soon so you can move on. Am sorry. I dont know that ectopics necessarily cause bleeding? what did the RE say?
