Holy crap. That is a MUCH faster meet.
KLI has long been a deeper meet. However, this year there aren’t the standouts at the top of the Winter Classic (State, NCAA, Olympic Champs) that there have been in years past.
Some of the fast 13/15 and senior Mako girls left for NCAP this year.
Many of the elite York young kids left. There isn’t a standout club from the northeast this year either.
Even after the departure of some strong swimmers, York still has the top-seeded 11-12 boys free relays in both 200 and 400.
Yes, the point is this year’s 11-12 200 free relay seed time is three seconds slower than last year. Partially because last year included two 11 year-olds that are no longer with York.
And JFC the panties in a twist over the calling a kid elite because they are elite by any measure of the word relative to their peers, but not compared to Gretchen Walsh at age 22. Chill out. Not everybody thinks their elementary schooler, no matter how good, is the next Torri Huske.
