Here’s the psych sheet for KLI, which gives a comparison point for what it takes to be top 16 and get a 2nd swim at finals at these meets. I have a 13-14 swimmer going to KLI and in all of her events a sectional cut will be needed to make the A final. https://www.gomotionapp.com/pvma/__eventform__/1489909_b7ccbcaf-7cd8-47e2-aa13-c43d0d21776d.pdf
Holy crap. That is a MUCH faster meet.
KLI has long been a deeper meet. However, this year there aren’t the standouts at the top of the Winter Classic (State, NCAA, Olympic Champs) that there have been in years past.
Some of the fast 13/15 and senior Mako girls left for NCAP this year.
Many of the elite York young kids left. There isn’t a standout club from the northeast this year either.
I'm constantly stupefied by how much time people spend comparing psych sheets/results of different meets, looking at specific age groups and knowing the reasons why certain age groups got better/worse. Even after the departure of some strong swimmers, York still has the top-seeded 11-12 boys free relays in both 200 and 400.
Yes, the point is this year’s 11-12 200 free relay seed time is three seconds slower than last year. Partially because last year included two 11 year-olds that are no longer with York.
And still faster than Makos, Marlins, and AAC.
Makos are much slower than last year. Mostly because their elite kid aged up.
It looks like 3+ of Makos’ best 13+ swimmers moved to NCAP this year.
Thanks for repeating what was said earlier.
