Holy crap. That is a MUCH faster meet.

KLI has long been a deeper meet. However, this year there aren’t the standouts at the top of the Winter Classic (State, NCAA, Olympic Champs) that there have been in years past.

Some of the fast 13/15 and senior Mako girls left for NCAP this year.

Many of the elite York young kids left. There isn’t a standout club from the northeast this year either.

Even after the departure of some strong swimmers, York still has the top-seeded 11-12 boys free relays in both 200 and 400.

Yes, the point is this year’s 11-12 200 free relay seed time is three seconds slower than last year. Partially because last year included two 11 year-olds that are no longer with York.

And still faster than Makos, Marlins, and AAC.

Makos are much slower than last year. Mostly because their elite kid aged up.

It looks like 3+ of Makos’ best 13+ swimmers moved to NCAP this year.

Makos is a decent team but I think if a kid is really committed you need a large cohort to push you at practice and it is in your interest to be on a team that attends the better meets. The meets that are going to push you.

100% agreed. They could never develop kids to have Olympic Trials cuts at age 15/16, or be first team All-American. Wait…

those same 11/12 Makos, boys and girls alike, did very well across the board at Swim & Rock last weekend .... in at least one events sweeping 1 thru 5 at finals

We are not with Makos but they have some outstanding swimmers. Every year they have incredible standouts swimming.

Winter classis is a small meet, which makes it fun. There were a lot of very talented swimmers there from Marlins, ASC, York and AAC. Fast swimmers.

Makos, AAC had some killer swimmers, as in when they swam their events no one was even close to them in multiple events.
