Excluding international students from our colleges and universities is a threat to national security. |
That's what they used to say about women. |
Why do think there HCBUs came into existence? They had to have somewhere for “them” to go. A PP mentioned Hitler and Mussolini, and we aren’t far off IMO. |
Except judges ordering this administration to do or not do something hasn’t changed any of what they do anyway. |
| Could someone please answer OP's veiled question "now that international students may not attend Harvard, will Larla get off the waitlist?" |
No one knows the answer just yet. We do not know whether Harvard incoming undergrads will get their visas. There are only about 250, so even if they were to all be deferred until next year, at most, Harvard would probably take three hundred off its waitlist, considering its high yield, which is not going to move the needle much spread out across other schools' waitlists. Seems likely that Harvard will make a deal with the administration soon enough for visa processing, soon being within a week. |
This is exactly Make America Great Again. |
I think it is just making us dumber…but that’s me. Either way, the “mastermind” behind it is in his 80’s and will be gone soon enough. Harvard will be around a lot longer than DJT, MTG, MAGA, and their enablers. |

Trump is not winning. This is all fury which will amount to zero action. Courts backing Harvard.
2) business as usual |
| International students shouldn't make up more than 10% of the student body. Otherwise, the schools should lose their tax exempt status. There are plenty of full-pay, qualified, American students who can fill the spots. |
Thank you, couldn’t agree more. |
He wants to destroy Harvard. As soon as Americans let him do so, he will start his program to destroy every other university. He will then open universities for profit that he controls. Stay silent at your own peril. |
LOL. The WSJ opinion board disagrees with you. It says it’s a message that America no longer cares about top talent. It also said most of our AI programs are filled with international students who stay and create companies here. You don’t think China will dangle $1M to the top scientists and researchers at Harvard and elsewhere? Dumb, dumb, dumb. What makes a top intl college? Surely not one who arrests students, dismantles federal agencies aiding academic research, censorship, and on.. |
Except those 300+ will likely make the waitlist move further at school’s a tier down. Like Duke, Penn, Northwestern, JHU, UChicago, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown. So all of those schools will be moving to weightless throughout the summer. It’s just a trickle down effect. To go from admitting 20 from your regular waitlist to now admitting 10-15 times that many does absolutely make a difference to the rest of the admissions landscape when you sit at the top. |
| Hard to believe that I’m describing the US ^^ but that’s where we are now. |
