In virtual meetings with parents last week TSJ said they will be trying to get into ECNL. Did not seem like they meant for 2024-25 season but maybe that’s in play now.

Pretty bold of them to show their hand. That would be awesome. We are looking at them for our younger DD...

From what I hear TSJ has had some internal issues lately.

There's a good chance they're just saying what parents want to hear to keep players engaged.

Also usually ECNL makes new teams prove themselves in ECRL before moving them up to ECNL. This might also be what they mean by "trying to get into ECNL". They might be just talking about moving all their teams to the ECRL with the hope that they'll eventually get ECNL.

Make sure to get concrete information on their real home base field. A lot of people think that was a sticking point for the staff fallout. Promises of them building a home field and it never amounting to anything.

No chance FCV would get ECNL unless, TSJ sells, and what's left of the FCV brand merges with Brave and will be known as FC Virgina Brave or FCVB. Makes too much sense and would be only viable way FCV ever becomes ECNL

Does TSJ need to retain the name FCV at all? Can’t they go it “alone”? If you take GA out of it and ECNL is the new goal, even just regionally.

FCV could join ECNL on the girls side today and probably do very well. But I don't see how they'd be able sell to their families that moving from GA level competitions to ECNL-RL level competitions is a good thing. They're Champions Cup for a reason, you don't go from playing the best of the best, at the club level, in GA to ECNL-RL.

On the boys side, they'd have to go ECNL-RL there wouldn't be any other option there.

Could they start with pre-ecnl for the girls at the younger ages?

FCV has an issue because ECNL still hates them. This could go away at some point. Anyone's guess as to when. But if it happened no way they would make them do RL. Rumor is ECNL taking 4 top GA teams. they would all go straight to ECNL. RL is for second teams.

Which 4?
There is a lot of variations of the 4

The reasons that ECNL hates them are leaving or already gone. All new coaches and management. Other than the name there is nothing left of the old FCV. A simple rebranding solves that one.

we all know this is an pro ECNL forum and clearly everyone here is mad SYC has GA.

How about all the ECNL coaches here posting on this forum focus more on their clubs instead of focusing on SYC having GA. Clearly ppl here are afraid or mad SYC now has GA.

Why would anyone be mad that SYC has GA?

If Syc 2012s snag a few more players from ECNL teams, they will be the most dominant team.

Believe it or not, some parents/kids would rather win a national championship in GA than struggle every season on a mid tier ECNL team

Nobody is willingly leaving ECNL for GA.

FCV had an established record of college commitments long before GA. What record of college recruitment does SYC have? It's more than just being in the league that attracts players and families, it is a track record of college recruiting success. SYC, on the girls side has none compared to the remaining ECNL clubs.

so which teams are actually going from GA to ECNL? No one seems to actually attach club names with all these posts.

Don’t look too far…. Loudoun might leave ECNL

They will go MLS Next they already had their site visit from MLS Next and will be announcing soon.
