| Rush, Nationals and Ukies are each represented in the GA champions cup in each age group, but the U19’s where only 2 of the 3 are. And looking at the clubs being added the level of play is going to be dropping drastically. |
Patiently waiting for the new announcements today )))

| GA never gained traction and was a place for MLS Nxt Clubs to dump off their girls teams. ECNL is a juggernaut on the girls side and is gaining fast on MLS Nxt on the boys side for college track kids. |
| The 3 clubs leaving the GA made up 11% of all 2025 D1 GA commitments. Now adding low level regional the clubs is not going to help the GA in any way. It’s time the GA relegated itself. |
Lol. Nice troll attempt, girlbossDad. |
All three of those are top 10 GA clubs, Nationals is top 2.. not sure how that is"not as big a hit" Its devastating to the high end, but based on what the GA is adding maybe they are okay with losing the top and boosting the bottom. |

I find this thread so interesting. Why does everyone seem so invested in other leagues? It makes the ECNL girls parents on here seem defensive. My kid is on an MLS Next team and I don't spend any time obsessing over the status/composition of other leagues. It's just the best team for him. He definitely does note the perceived top status of the league (well-founded or not), but I'm not actively rooting for other leagues to fail.
Is it the college connection for girls in ECNL? Is there a perceived threat from other leagues? honestly asking. |
| ECNL = Cult following |
it's parent egos, justifying that their kid is playing in the best of the best |
You are not wrong there at all, it is also the top female youth league. |
A lot of the posts you are seeing are from coaches, not parents. It's a lovely recruitment strategy. |
Data source? |

For sure. But this is such nonsense that this behavior that's existent in so many other areas of life and in this country has spread to small things like youth soccer. So many things nowadays just feel like people supporting cults with no critical thinking or being able to just look at things objectively with zero emotion.
There's two leagues, they both provide platforms and opportunities for kids to play. Sure, one has higher level teams but that's not to say there's zero quality in the other. Both leagues have top performing teams and lesser ones. Even in a scenario where say GA happens to go under. The winner there would only be people who have prayed on its downfall for nothing other than wanting to feel validation that their opinion is correct. The loser's are children that just want to play soccer. |
Funny, Ukies were a "low level regional club" coming into the GA a few years ago and were god awful in the GA their first couple of years. People criticized their addition as and example of GA failing. Now in just a few short years they are a trophy add to the ECNL. Some new adds will fail but others will come up to speed fast. We'll have to wait to see. |
The problem with Ukies is once all the coaches kids move on the daddyball coaches will quit. |
