"Driving a Tesla is No Different From Wearing a Red MAGA Hat..."

Fortunately, other car manufacturers are trying to catch up and there will be more and more better options.

Same. I’m “due” to get the next car in our family, but I’ve told DH that if he wants to ditch the Tesla, I’m happy to give up my “turn.”

NOPE

You still drive one I know you are a racist antisemite idiot.

Easy.

Got rid of mine so I have no issue thinking this.

Not to mention we had three all three were absolute crap.

Ridiculous. People can't just sell or trade in their cars like that. Good for you. I'm happy you feel good about your decision, but a lot of people can't take the financial hit of selling and buying something with the same types of features.

How is your personal decision not to take a one-time hit of a few thousand dollars different than, say, Wal-mart's decision to put profits ahead of other ESG values??

I don't know what you are talking about. I'd have to shell out an additional 20-30K right now to get a car with similar features. It's not in my budget. I keep my cars a long time and it's not been a long time. We aren't talking about a few thousand dollars.

Hahaha! So you're one of these 'do as i say, not as i do' people. Clearly lots of tesla owners have dumped their cars because values matter and they don't want to be hypocrites

You are exhausting.

I don’t have a bumper sticker on my car professing love for ‘EM. I just have a car. People who judge Tesla drivers, especially those who’ve had them for awhile bc it was a smart choice for the environment, aren’t MAGAs. Quite the opposite

I’m sure the judges also boycot all organizations with jerky owners and never travel to southern states.

Every day that passes, it seems like Elon leans further into his edge lord/Q persona. No one is selling a relatively new car because of it, but buying a new Tesla does seem like something that you're going to get judge for

This is ridonk. I am a huge anarchist liberal who has always hated Musk, but I am not dumping a perfectly good car and investing in a new one...the environmental impact of this is way worse than whatever my perceived values are. People who know me, know me. I kept my Toyota for over 20 years till it died and I will do the same with my 2018 Tesla, because it is folly to replace cars when they don't need to be replaced. So wasteful.

Please. We are all sick of the judgement and condemnation. Move on.

Yes, why can’t Musk help out neo-nazis without any judgment?

And even though Musk insisted on a multi-*Billion* salary for running Tesla because he is indispensable to the company and synonymous with Tesla but anyone who now objects to Tesla being associated with Musk is being ridiculous.

Not at all. Generally Tesla drivers are very liberal.

A friend with a Tesla is keeping theirs but cancelled an order for a new one.

I’m disappointed because we were planning to get a Tesla as our next car (the car it would replace is 10 years old so it’s coming up). Maybe Elon will get pushed out by then if he’s tanking sales.

We are sick of the far right loons. Lock up your crazies instead of putting them in positions of power.

We have one we bought years ago. I don’t know why Tesla has this reputation for snobby “usury” cars. We have the 3 which was slightly more than our Prius was. Most people have the 3. I don’t know anyone with anything else. When we bought, it was the only real option for fully electric. (Our other car is a plug in hybrid.). It’s really unfortunate musk is such an ass because the Tesla charging system is phenomenal. It’s so easy to take road trips with the network they built. Much much more difficult with other electric cars.

I really do hate musk but it’s a bit ironic — at the end of the day, he perhaps has done more to help the environment (by making electric vehicles feasible through sheer force of will and investment) than most liberals. If you watch the Good Place, it makes me think perhaps he has earned a place in The Medium Place.

There’s a cult around Musk, just as there is around Trump. This is why we’ve never considered a Tesla, despite owning multiple EVs and PHEVs.

It's nothing more than virtue signaling.

When are you going to stop buying products manufactured in sweat shops? Why do you invest in companies that exploit people and destroy the environment?

When will be you become triggered again and forced to take action? Seems exhausting.

+1. Are all of these people going give up their Apple phones?

False equivalence isn’t persuasive to me. Sorry.

Why? If you're oh so progressive and going to turn up your nose at the idea of MAGA (and honestly, how many MAGA types are even driving Teslas?), how are you okay with forced labor of the Uyghurs to make your iPhone?

Or can you just not stomach the thought of having to use an Android?

This is only on DCUM. No one I know IRL would ever pass judgement on someone for owning a Tesla. It's utter BS. Trolls be trolling.

Exactly. I really don't think any of this is for real.

Not for owning one maybe but buying a new one? No. Don't. Spend your money on something better than a product that does not stand up against hate speech, insurrections, and trashing women's rights.
