How did MCPS lie? Parents demanded things be 100% back to normal pre covid. MCPS did what was asked of them and offered virtual for anyone who was still concerned. Now people like you are complaining when they were clear from the start of the return that there would be no precautions and back to normal. |
How is it anti-science? Can you show us the studies behind that? |

The latest guidance from the CDC, dated 11/2/22:

Let’s not forget that ZERO kids age 0-17 have died of Covid in Montgomery County since the beginning of this pandemic. https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/covid19/data/case-counts.html#deaths-age Why would you want to force kids to mask when kids are not dying from Covid now, and they never were. Feel free to advocate for mask mandates at nursing homes. But not at schools. Mask mandates for kids are most definitely anti-science. |
Sure, Donald. Kids with long term organ damage from COVID make you happy. Children have died from COVID, not that you care. In your imagination a school that is open, but empty of teachers and students is a win. |
Are you serious? Do you understand how immunity works? Kids need to be exposed to germs to develop their immune systems. If you keep masking, it will only exacerbate the problem. I can't believe how idiotic your thought process is. |
| Are we still talking about masking? This is hilarious. |
Some of these biddies just won’t give up the ship. |
This. Sure, colds and sickness are inconvenient. But they are essential in order for kids to develop robust immune system. Forcing kids to mask (to avoid the usual childhood illnesses) does then a huge disservice in the long term. |

Not that this should be a discussion arguing about masks, but just for our anti-masker friend:
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/10/health/covid-schools-masks.html A new study was just released about the effectiveness about masking. Obviously people shouldn't mask all the time when illness is lower, but there is an argument to be made that masking when incidences of illness (not just Covid but any respiratory illness) will reduce spread. Do what you want with that info. But don't spread anti science lies. |
Hmm....the election is now behind us and the timing of the release of this study is interesting. This study has flaws as it only shows correlation, not causation, as noted in the article. There are many other studies that will refute this one. I think at this point we all know that masks harmed kids in various ways and that masks should be a choice, not a mandate. |
Kids have died in the us, although rare as have many adults who can contract it through kids however the discussion is not about deaths. So, please show us the studies. You cannot so you hide behind no kids have died. |
Except not all kids develop a robust immune system and some of it is genetics. You also forget the impact when kids bring it home to the parents. |
So what? That's no different than before covid. They just have to deal like they always have, and if that means wear a mask, THEY should wear one. My kids are done protecting the few compromised to their disadvantage. |
