Hi grammar police

Her grammar was atrocious.

Not as atrocious as you opening a thread just to nitpick on grammar.

I don't think it's very polite to send Evites in the first place. So I would back away from calling people who don't respond to them rude, as it is hypocritical.

Some of us are not stuck in the 80s and doing paper invites.

Some of us are also not stuck in 2002 and doing Evites.

And you think texting is a better way to reach 50 people?

Lol yeah - what are you all using instead? Evite corrals the responses and sends a reminder to everyone for me. That is helpful

And this is why evites suck.

Why not? If you have nothing on that date, you RSVP yes (if it’s something you want to go to) and then that’s the thing you do that day.

This is not hard.

I would rather do paper invites. If people forget to respond to a paper invitation, they've forgotten about the party and for sure won't come. With evite, you get reminders even if you have RSVPed no or forgotten to RSVP. I have had parents show up who RSVPed no on an evite and I wondered if this was why.

I don't want a paper invite. Then I have to type in the persons cell or email to respond. Not that its hard, but it's annoying. And the invite might get lost and I won't know time/date/location. Evite or bust. That way I can just click and be done with it. I haven't received a paper invite in years, it's all electronic invites.

I’ve had guests show up with no rsvp. I think this is worse than receiving no rsvp.

I have... Quite a few for younger people. Still, even if you aren't coming, it is super rude to not even acknowledge an invitation. Off the next list...

+1 I always send out invitations far in advance because my kids' friends have busy lives and I want to maximize the chance that their parents will be able to plan around my kid's party. It drives me INSANE when I get evites for a party on Tuesday that's happening the following Saturday. Guaranteed we already have at least 2 sports events or other plans. To me, giving no notice is way more inconsiderate than giving too much.

Y'all are out of your minds. 6 weeks out, I have no idea what my work schedule will be. I don't even know if I will be in this geographic location on that day (because: WORK). I can't say yes to you that far in advance.

So just say no? Not everyone has this WORK problem. There will never be a system that works for everyone.

DP I didn't assume this was about kids parties? One of the PP was crying about not knowing her work schedule. Since adults aren't the attendees at kids parties not sure we are just talking about one type of party.
