Evite and RSVP - Where has manners gone?

What do you make of people who don't even bother viewing the evite even after a reminder, or those who don't bother to respond a Yes or a No? How difficult is it to just say Yes or No, so the party planner can go ahead and do what they need to. I'm not talking about kids birthday parties, but in general. If it were kids parties, even then Sports schedules should be out by mid week right? But for a friends and family event also this happens.

If they don't rsvp, they aren't coming. I have never once had an evite with any other outcome. Just write them off.

If they aren’t viewing it, it’s probably in their spam folder.

They may not have gotten the email or they forgot. Reach out to them. I don't bother to RSVP as if you knew me the answer is no with covid.

Sometimes I ping them to make sure they got it.

What are you using evite for that isn’t a kid’s party?! Adults don’t use evites. Send a text at the very least.

Lol some of us adults use evites from time to time.

Not excusing not RSVPing but they may not see them.

I have missed out on a few invitations that never made it to me. The hosts contacted me otherwise I would have never known we were invited.

Now if you see that they’ve viewed it and not responded that’s different.

+a million

So irritating and rude.

Just say no if you aren’t coming.

I got an evite for a party 6 weeks in advance. I can’t plan my life that far out. I had every intention of rsvp-ing closet to the date, but I forgot, and apparently they didn’t send reminders or they went to spam. I realized the party was last weekend—oops.

I get wedding and bat/bar mitzvah invites at least six weeks in advance. I just decide if I want to go and RSVP, and then plan around that event.

These get lost in spam quite a lot.

Um, Evite is a spammy way to give away your friends' emails to a company without their permission and then require them to look at ads while viewing your invite because you were too cheap to buy one or send an email.

I don't think it's very polite to send Evites in the first place. So I would back away from calling people who don't respond to them rude, as it is hypocritical.

Why not? If you have nothing on that date, you RSVP yes (if it’s something you want to go to) and then that’s the thing you do that day.

This is not hard.
