Van Lifer couple camping in Utah national park - two weeks later fiancee arrives in FL alone

No, people. No one needs to be paid off to allow him to escape capture, and the cop relative doesn’t have the power to cover up for him.

There are countless places to disappear in this country, at least for a while, whether you are alive or dead. Simple as that. A water filter, pack full of high calorie sustenance and the ability to dumpster dive after the food runs out can allow someone to live in the woods for a really long time. And dead bodies can easily hide forever.

This is like the white box truck during the sniper killing spree. He's not living off the land on the preserve or along the Appalachian Trail. He either killed himself somewhere, or escaped to Mexico weeks ago.

But since a dead person can't bury or dismember or chop up themselves (or whatever) it seems fairly likely his body would be discovered, no?

I’d give it at least 50% odds he killed himself, but I doubt he would chance Mexico. He fancies himself an outdoorsman, so if he’s not dead my money is on the woods. If his parents did help him before he was known to be “missing,” he could have been ferried to woods days away from their home. Eric Rudolph thrived for years in the mountains before being found, even though authorities searched that area extensively.

Given the sister’s seeming disapproval of the parents’ behavior, it wouldn’t surprise me if they helped him get pretty far away.

Dead bodies in the wild can be scattered and reduced to very little pretty quickly.

Could have been eaten by an alligator or be sunken in that waist-deep mud water in the preserve. Or he never went to the preserve and killed himself somewhere that hasn't been on the radar yet. You'd think remnants of his being there would be found, but not if authorities are just completely off base with where they should be looking.

Doubt this guy killed himself. He camping and changed his appearance, or traveling somewhere and changed his appearance. It's a big country.

Like PP, I was also remembering Eric Rudolph—he hid for years!
And think of all the women who are killed and their bodies never found or found many years later. Not because their killers are criminal masterminds—it’s just hard to find dead bodies in nature unless you know right where to look. It took a year to find Chaundra levy’s body and that was an urban park with comparatively high traffic and a decent sense of where she had gone. All he did was toss her down a hill.

BINGO.

I’m sorry. No. Someone would have leaked or called in an “anonymous” tip. Groups of people don’t actually keep big secrets very well.

Why are you sorry? What a ridiculous expression. He only needs one cop helping.

I doubt he killed himself. Abusers kill others. And people don’t usually sneak off to kill themselves.

I disagree. He doesn’t need any cops helping. It’s just not that hard.

That area where she was located off Brandywine isn’t heavily trafficked as other parts of the park I would say which is likely why it took some time. Though I suppose vultures could’ve signaled that there was a need to search there. But there has also been a woman missing ( I believe her killer admitted to dumping her actually) in Fort Washington for decades and multiple searches of the wooded areas have never found her.

Brian displayed the exact same behavior in the video with the cops. Gabby had a total meltdown and looked completely broken, while Brian was completely calm and even smiling at times. That is learned behavior, and I bet he got that from watching how his dad treated his mom.

It’s sick.

Absolutely. I think that man beats his wife. I’m sure Brian saw it his whole life and Gabby did while they were living together. I bet Brian was a dick to Gabbys mom and that’s why she didn’t want him living in her house. Gabby went to Brian’s house where abuse was normalized. They are both protecting Brian.

My guess is 50-50 between being eaten by alligator in reserve, or him abandoning car there and hitching a ride or bus to an easier terrain to live outdoors. I wonder if he would need an I.D. to board a bus.
