| Don’t forget to tell your children to always give up anything being stolen from you!! Stay calm, look down, give them whatever they want. This poor guy. His poor family. I hope those girls rot in prison for the rest of their lives. |
Agreed like other PP said. You don’t need to watch it. People were trying to help before they drove off. Honestly I can’t believe more people were hurt. That poor man and his family. |
WEREN’T hurt. Sorry. |
Whether in a mental institution or prison, whether behavior is result of mental illness or sociopath, all 3 and the Colorado shooter should be held accountable--as should all who commit horrific crimes. |
They're juveniles and it's banned in DC for them to serve life sentences without the possibility of parole. https://www.sentencingproject.org/publications/juvenile-life-without-parole/ |
Stop victim blaming. Shame on you!!!! |
It's not victim-blaming, it's smart advice. If you're ever in an armed robbery give them what they want and you're more likely to be unharmed and survive. These were teenagers who were panicking because he wouldn't just step away from the car and there was another person filming. Two things are correct: 1. he would be alive if they didn't decide to steal a car. 2. he would be alive if he had moved away from the car. |
Sure. But my point is that conservatives are angling this as a hate crime against a South Asian man by two black girls but they refused to consider the Atlanta shootings a hate crime. Maybe these teen girls were having a bad day or bad year because of the pandemic. |
Your advice seems realistic in high crime areas where consequences for criminal behavior are minimal. |
Also your advice seems realistic in hypotheticals but when the car jacking is actually happening people can only hope they would act the way they always bragged they would. But until the sh!t hits the fan people usually act much differently than they expected. They panic. Their instincts take over. So you can preach and preach and victim blame but you have zero way of ever knowing how you would react until you’re actually in the situation. You are victim blaming and you’re a terrible person for doing it. |
PP here. We don't know if either/both are hate crimes or nor, but I'll agree that both situations require significant consequences. Personally, I think it's possible that neither situation is a "hate crime." |
Death penalty by dragging |
| With all the support and lower admissions for black there is no excuse for this behavior, they need to be severely punished and be made as an example to put fear in the criminal youth running rampant in dc |

Rich and privileged people: “ just let the thieves take your car/phone/wallet/money, etc. Your safety is all that matters...”
Other people, especially someone who’s driving for Uber eats as an income: “I can’t let these kids take my car, I will never get it back. My insurance won’t cover this. There goes my job, there goes my income, what will I do? I can’t replace this. I can’t get another job, especially without the car. I can’t afford this. I can’t let this happen. My family is depending on me.” Think outside your bubble. Sure, NBD for rich people to just “hand it over”. SMH. |
PP here. I'm not victim blaming at all. Mr. Anwar and his family have my full sympathy. I only wrote the last reply because what else can one realistically do if in an area like DC or Atlanta where carjackings are exploding on number and consequences are minimal for teens who commit crimes? |
